Rockets' Kevin Durant Responds to Viral Twitter Burner Account Allegations in Video
Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant declined to entertain a question over a supposed burner account he allegedly maintained on social media.
"I'm not here to get into Twitter nonsense," he told reporters Wednesday.
During All-Star Weekend, internet sleuths claimed Durant has maintained an account through which he provided unfiltered opinions on a number of topics, including plenty off NBA-related takes.
The messages in question haven't been verified as authentic.
A similar story surrounded Durant in 2017, and he has confirmed in the past to using alternate accounts when he wants to covertly have conversations on social media.
KD's response on Wednesday is unlikely to make the story go away because he didn't provide a firm denial. Granted, a segment of fans have probably made up their minds as to the authenticity of the messages regardless of what the 15-time All-Star says publicly.
The resumption of Houston's season will at least give people something else to talk about. The Rockets are back in action Thursday against the Charlotte Hornets.
In general, acquiring Durant has achieved what the team hoped. He's averaging 25.8 points on 50.6 percent shooting, and Houston is fourth in the Western Conference (33-20) despite losing guard Fred VanVleet and center Steven Adams to season-ending injuries.
