5 Best Free-Agent Landing Spots for Tyreek Hill After Miami Dolphins Release
On Monday, the Miami Dolphins released a few notable veterans. Among them, Tyreek Hill will be a free agent for the first time in his NFL career and could have favorable options on the open market.
Entering his 11th year, the 31-year-old is one of the league's most accomplished receivers. He's a five-time All-Pro wideout (one as a kick returner), a former Super Bowl champion and still one of the most electric playmakers when healthy.
That said, Hill has dealt with injuries over the last two years. In 2024, he played with a torn ligament in his wrist. He only suited up for four games in 2025 because of a season-ending knee injury.
On a positive note, Hill is walking without a brace. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said it's the receiver's goal to be ready for the start of the (2026) season.
Two years ago, Hill said he would "call it quits" at the end of his latest extension with the Dolphins. Before his release, he had one year left on his deal, which was set to expire in 2027. Teams probably shouldn't plan for much more than two years.
Nonetheless, several clubs will likely reach out to Rosenhaus about Hill's interest, and we've sorted the list down to the five best landing spots for him. These selections are based on roster and schematic fit.
Baltimore Ravens

Last offseason, Hill provided his thoughts on the league's top five quarterbacks.
Although Hill didn't list them in any particular order, he mentioned Lamar Jackson's name first.
The Baltimore Ravens could go through offensive changes under a new coaching regime. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle will call plays for the first time in his coaching career.
Moreover, Baltimore could lose wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and tight end Isaiah Likely in free agency. Rashod Bateman didn't justify the three-year, $36.75 million extension he signed last offseason, hauling in just 19 out of 38 targets for 224 yards and two touchdowns for the 2025 term.
The Ravens could be active on the receiver free-agent market, especially if they're slow to sign Zay Flowers to an extension.
Hill respects Jackson's game. The two could work together for a couple of years to expand Baltimore's deep passing attack.
Buffalo Bills

Hill also named Josh Allen among his top five quarterbacks, and the Buffalo Bills need speed at receiver. Assuming the 31-year-old wideout makes a full recovery to play for most of the 2026 season, this is the most logical match in terms of need.
Unlike the Baltimore Ravens, though, Buffalo would have to clear cap space for Hill's contract, even if he takes a modest deal. The Bills are $12.3 million over the salary-cap threshold. As a solution, they can restructure Allen's and Dion Dawkins' contracts for $23.9 million in cap relief.
Over the years, Allen has become a more efficient passer. In 2025, he completed a career-high 69.3 percent of his attempts. With a strong arm, the 2024 MVP can do more than throw to tight end Dalton Kincaid and slot wideout Khalil Shakir in the seams and in the middle of the field; he can threaten defenses outside the numbers with Hill.
Following the 2025 draft, general manager Brandon Beane pushed back against critics who questioned the composition of his receiving corps.
Yet after owner Terry Pegula blamed the previous coaching staff for drafting Keon Coleman, who's had an underwhelming start to his career, the Bills should consider a proven playmaker who's more explosive (when healthy) than any of the pass-catchers on their roster.
Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud hasn't matched his first-year production, when he won the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year award, throwing for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
The Houston Texans can help Stroud turn it around by adding a veteran receiver who commands attention in coverage, taking some of the pressure off Nico Collins.
The Texans have a young group of receivers behind Collins on the depth chart. As rookies, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel took on complementary roles. The former showed some promise with 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns, and the latter caught 26 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns.
Still, as Tank Dell recovers from multiple knee surgeries, the Texans' passing attack has room for another veteran receiver. Keep in mind that Christian Kirk will be a free agent.
Texans general manager Nick Caserio isn't shy about making an aggressive move for an outspoken receiver. In 2024, Houston acquired Stefon Diggs, a 2024 sixth-rounder and a 2025 fifth-rounder in exchange for a 2025 second-rounder.
Diggs only played a half-season with the Texans because of a torn ACL, but the team's willingness to surround Stroud with veteran receiver talent suggests that Hill could be on its radar.
Kansas City Chiefs

At the right time, a reunion can benefit both parties.
Currently $54.9 million over the cap threshold, the Kansas City Chiefs must cut players and restructure contracts before the new league year. After they do that, the front office should take a look at lower-cost wide receivers on the free-agent market.
Coming off surgery with uncertainty about his availability for Week 1, Hill may take less to be in a better situation with a top-tier quarterback. Of course, Patrick Mahomes knows him well from their time as teammates from 2017 to 2021.
Fast forward to 2026: Mahomes will need more help when he returns from a torn ACL.
Tight end Travis Kelce could play in his 14th season, but he's no longer a consistent red-zone threat, logging fewer than six touchdown receptions in three consecutive campaigns. The Chiefs can't rely on Rashee Rice, who's missed 22 games over the last two years because of injuries and a suspension. Xavier Worthy hasn't met first-round expectations yet.
While in Kansas City, Hill made the All-Pro roster twice as a receiver. Because of his rapport with Mahomes, he could be a seamless plug-and-play option for an offense that needs someone to open up the passing game downfield.
Washington Commanders

Last offseason, the Washington Commanders traded a 2025 fifth-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Washington could lose him, along with tight end Zach Ertz, in free agency.
Samuel hasn't come close to matching the receiving numbers from his 2021 Pro Bowl campaign. The Commanders may prefer to move on from him. The same goes for Ertz, who tore his ACL early in December.
Although Hill is in the latter stages of his career, he could be a high-end No. 2 option behind Terry McLaurin, who's set to be the focal point of new offensive coordinator David Blough's offense.
Following an injury-riddled down year, quarterback Jayden Daniels could post gaudy passing numbers in a rebound season with a McLaurin-Hill tandem on the perimeter.
