New Myles Garrett Rumors on Browns Future, Potential Trade Request After Todd Monken Hire
Myles Garrett's future with the Cleveland Browns doesn't appear to be in doubt following the hiring of Todd Monken as the team's new head coach.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns kept Garrett "in the loop" throughout their coaching search and he wasn't surprised about the hiring of Monken.
Cleveland also didn't "make too much" of a recent Instagram post in which Garrett seemed to be dismayed that defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz didn't receive a promotion and understood his "fierce loyalty" to Schwartz, per Cabot.

Cabot also noted that the Browns don't expect Garrett to ask for a trade, but "the answer will be no" if he requests a change of scenery.
Schwartz was a finalist for Cleveland's head coaching vacancy, but Monken was ultimately hired on Wednesday.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Schwartz was "visibly upset, said goodbyes in the building and told other coaches he's not coming back" after the news was released.
His future with the Browns is "now unclear" despite remaining under contract with the team, per Pelissero.
Garrett hasn't been afraid to express his frustrations regarding the Browns in the past, requesting a trade and citing a "desire to win" in Feb. 2025.
He eventually remained with Cleveland and signed a four-year extension worth $40 million per year the following month, however.
Garrett earned his first Defensive Player of the Year award for the 2023 season, Schwartz's first year as the Browns' defensive coordinator.
He's also a finalist for the honor following his 2025 campaign.
Garrett terrorized opposing quarterbacks in his latest year, as his 23 sacks represented a new single-season NFL record. He also amassed 60 tackles, 39 quarterback hits, 33 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles.
His presence is crucial to a Browns defensive front that ranked No. 3 among all teams in sacks during the regular season. Cleveland also allowed just 283.6 total yards per game, the fourth-best mark in the league.
A change of scenery for Garrett doesn't appear to be on the horizon, though.
