New NBA Trade Rumors on Michael Porter Jr., Nets Ahead of 2026 Deadline
The Brooklyn Nets haven't made forward Michael Porter Jr. available in trade discussions just yet, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
"I know everybody thinks that Porter's available, that would be news to me," Windhorst reported during a Friday appearance on NBA Today. "I have not heard that he is available. If he is available, I'll wait for Shams to tell me because I haven't heard that."
NBA insider Marc Stein previously reported that he's "hearing pushback about the Nets' willingness to part ways with Porter" at the 2026 deadline as well.
Porter has been productive during his first season in Brooklyn, averaging a career-high 25.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from three-point territory.
Brooklyn could choose to part ways with the 27-year-old considering his age and championship experience with the Denver Nuggets, as the Nets sit at No. 13 in the Eastern Conference standings with a 12-34 record.
Porter still has one year remaining on his contract, though. Brooklyn might decide to wait until the offseason before the team seriously considers trading him.
The 2026 trade deadline is on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
