Ryan Williams Addresses CFB Transfer Portal Speculation Ahead of Alabama's CFP Game

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams affirmed his allegiance to the Crimson Tide for the 2026 season.

"I'm Alabama through and through," he said Tuesday ahead of the Rose Bowl against Indiana, per AL.com's Nick Kelly. "I have no intentions of being anywhere else."

Williams had a one-word response when asked about the transfer portal specifically: "Nah."

The 6'0" wideout has encountered a sophomore slump. Through 13 games, he has caught 43 passes for 636 yards and four touchdowns. He's averaging nearly 20 fewer receiving yards per contest.

Senior Germie Bernard is the team leader in receptions (60) and yardage (802).

Williams didn't have a single catch in Alabama's 27-20 Iron Bowl win over Auburn. A day after the game, head coach Kalen DeBoer denied it reflected some larger issue.

"He was out there," DeBoer told reporters. "There was really nothing to read into there, at all. I think there were opportunities where the ball could have found him. Plays where — it's not like they're designed specifically for him. That's really not how a lot of our offense is. There might be screens and things like that that are intentionally trying to get touches. But as far as the pass concepts, just we didn't get to him in the route or things like that."

Williams proceeded to haul in three passes for 38 yards between the SEC title game and the first round of the College Football Playoff.

Questions over his future were perhaps inevitable when the transfer portal affords the Alabama native an escape hatch if he believes his career is better served elsewhere.

Based on Tuesday's comments, that's not an option Williams will exercise.
