Lane Kiffin Posts Photo Hyping His Offense During Ole Miss' CFP Game vs. Tulane
While Lane Kiffin's former team played in the College Football Playoff on Saturday, the new LSU head coach let fans know what's coming to Baton Rouge this fall.
Kiffin, who left Ole Miss for LSU, posted a graphic hyping his offenses in recent seasons on social media during the Rebels' first-round matchup against Tulane.
Kiffin has established himself as one of the best offensive head coaches in college football over the past few seasons, and that was especially true during his final campaign in Oxford.
The Rebels averaged the second-most yards in college football this season (498.1) along with the 11th-most points per game (37.3).
In its first game without Kiffin, Ole Miss' offense came out strong, posting a 17-point first half, though that came against Tulane. If the Rebels win their first-round matchup, they'll face No. 3 Georgia, which beat Ole Miss back in October.
Kiffin served as the Rebels' head coach for six seasons and left Oxford as one of the team's best coaches in program history. After taking the job at LSU, Kiffin said he had hoped to coach Ole Miss in its Playoff run, but was not granted that opportunity.
Now, Kiffin will look to reach the CFP for the first time in his career with LSU, which finished the regular season 7-5.
While the Tigers are coming off a bit of a down year, Kiffin should be able to turn things around fast, considering the influx of talent heading to Baton Rouge next year. LSU has the No. 13 overall recruiting class, according to 247Sports' composite ranking, and will almost certainly add some talent through the transfer portal.
Whether Kiffin can keep his high-powered offenses alive at LSU remains to be seen.
