Lane Kiffin Shades Ole Miss, Says LSU is '#JustDifferent' After Top Recruits Sign
Former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin seemingly threw shade at his Rebels recruiting classes shortly after the end of his first early signing period with LSU.
Kiffin shared a social media post on Friday which pointed out he had "signed more 5 stars in 5 days at #LSU than he did in 6 years at Ole Miss."
The Tigers received commitments from two five-star recruits when Lamar Brown and Richard Anderson signed with the team this week.
Brown is listed as the top athlete and No. 2 prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports composite rankings, while Anderson is listed as the top defensive lineman and No. 29 overall prospect.
The Tigers also brought in Deuce Geralds, who is rated by 247Sports as the No. 6 defensive lineman and No. 54 prospect in the class.
Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger reported ahead of Kiffin's signing with LSU that the program had promised him more than $25 million in roster investments through NIL deals and revenue sharing.
Kiffin said in his introductory press conference earlier this week that LSU's NIL budget had played a role in his decision to leave Ole Miss for the program.
"That definitely played a factor into it, because I don't care what your systems are— without good players, they don't work," Kiffin said.
Kiffin added that the contracts he had been offered were "very similar," but the NIL packages attached were not.
That difference might have played a role in LSU closing out the early signing period with the No. 13 ranked recruiting class in college football, per 247Sports.
Ole Miss, led by head coach Pete Golding, meanwhile ranked No. 22 after four-star commits including wide receiver Corey Barber and tight end JC Anderson followed Kiffin to LSU.
