After Alabama blew out Eastern Illinois 56-0 on Saturday at home, the Crimson Tide can remain focused on the College Football Playoffs.

Alabama sits at No. 10 after dropping a staggering six spots following its 23-21 loss to Oklahoma last Saturday. 

Next Saturday they face unranked 4-6 Auburn and need to avoid an upset at the Iron Bowl to keep their path to the SEC Championship Game alive. As Alabama sits on the edge of the playoff positioning, there is no margin for error, especially with the SEC title game set to significantly impact their postseason outlook in either direction.

As it stands, Alabama would travel to Autzen Stadium in Eugene for a matchup against Dan Lanning and No. 7 Oregon, with the winner advancing to face No. 2 Indiana, which holds a first-round bye.

However, USC and Oregon are set for a matchup with major CFB Playoff repercussions. No matter who wins, Oregon is likely to see a shift in its playoff ranking, which could change Alabama's projected path. A Ducks move in either direction may keep the Crimson Tide from having to travel to one of the toughest road environments in the nation.

The biggest concern for Alabama's playoff hopes is their early-season loss to a struggling Florida State team and an SEC loss to Oklahoma.
