The 2026 matchup will also mark the first international game played by NC State and Virginia in the history of each program.

Brazil has already hosted two NFL games at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, with three more contests scheduled to occur in Rio de Janeiro over the next five years starting in 2026.

NC State and Virginia have faced off 59 total times, with the Wolfpack owning a 37-21-1 record in the rivalry. Their most recent meeting occurred on Sept. 6, as NC State emerged with a 35-31 victory.

The Wolfpack currently sit at 5-5 during their 2025 campaign, as they've lost five of their past seven games following a 3-0 start to the year.

As for the Cavaliers, they own a 9-2 record in their fourth season under head coach Tony Elliott and held the No. 19 spot in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
