Everyone can laugh about it now, but nobody was smiling when A&M went into the locker room trailing the Gamecocks by 27 points. Reed had gone 6-of-19 for 141 yards and two interceptions, one of which was taken back for a South Carolina touchdown.
The Aggies flipped a switch after halftime and scored 28 unanswered points. Reed wound up with 439 yards and three scores through the air.
This was the biggest comeback in Texas A&M history, and SEC teams had previously been 0-286 in conference games since 2004 when trailing by 27 or more, per ESPN Insights.
Reed earned the right to turn the Aggies close call into some premium content.
