AP College Football Poll 2025 Week 13 Rankings Released with Top Risers and Fallers
Alabama now finds itself hovering above the College Football Playoff bubble on the basis of the new Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The Crimson Tide lost 23-21 at home to Oklahoma, which prompted them to fall from fourth to 10th. The Sooners jumped from No. 11 to 8 thanks to the big win, and they inch closer toward the first CFP berth of the Brent Venables era.

Oklahoma didn't earn any style points in Tuscaloosa. The Sooners were nearly doubled up by Alabama in total yards, and Venables had to keep scheming around the limitations for star quarterback John Mateer due to his hand injury.
Mateer went 15-of-23 for 138 yards through the air, while Xavier Robinson's 34 yards on 10 carries were enough to make him the team leader.
Still, Oklahoma prevailed in the end thanks in large part to being plus-three in the turnover battle.
Defensive back Eli Bowen returned an interception 87 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The fumble by Crimson Tide star Ryan Williams on a punt return in the second quarter helped to set up Mateer's 20-yard touchdown run. Then Tate Sandell's go-ahead 24-yard field goal was preceded by Ty Simpson's fumble on a sack late in the third.
Suffering a second defeat this season doesn't immediately knock Alabama out of the playoff race, and the Tide got a little bit of indirect help from another SEC team. But they're pretty much at the mercy of the CFP selection committee right now, and the idea of everything coming down to the Iron Bowl isn't a pleasant one.
Meanwhile, it's probably safe to remove Texas from the playoff conversation.
Georgia pulled away for a 35-10 win over the Longhorns, a final score that's slightly deceiving because the Bulldogs scored 21 points in the fourth quarter. Kirby Smart showed no mercy, going for an onside kick while up 11 in the fourth quarter.
The margin of the loss is largely irrelevant for Texas because the outcome is the regardless.
A 7-3 record isn't where fans expected the team to be when it opened the season at No. 1 in the AP poll. A year removed from reaching the CFP semifinal, they're back to wondering whether Steve Sarkisian is the guy.
Things can still get worse, too, when Texas closes the regular season with Texas A&M. The Aggies' brush with mortality — they had to overcome a 27-point halftime deficit to South Carolina — might've been the wakeup call they needed to bring their best against the Longhorns.
Over in the ACC, we're approaching a chaos scenario where Miami, arguably the conference's strongest team on paper, misses the playoff entirely or leapfrogs the ACC champion as an at-large entry.
The Hurricanes blew out North Carolina State 41-7 on Saturday.
Carson Beck went 21-of-27 for 291 yards and three touchdowns, while Girard Pringle Jr. ran for 116 yards and averaged 6.8 yards per carry. Miami's defense held the Wolfpack to just 143 yards and had a pick-six in the first quarter courtesy of Jakobe Thomas.
Elsewhere in the ACC, Pittsburgh was soundly beaten by Notre Dame, 37-15. Georgia Tech needed a 23-yard field goal by Aidan Birr with 11 seconds remaining to edge past 1-9 Boston College. A 34-17 victory over Duke will do little to burnish Virginia's resume.
Miami is still looking up at Georgia Tech, Virginia, SMU and Pitt in the conference standings. The Yellow Jackets have to play Georgia in their final game, and the Cavaliers' position in the CFP rankings (No. 19) is a sign of how little the committee respects them.
The ACC's hopes of having a playoff representative might rest squarely on the Hurricanes.
