
Bill Belichick, UNC Ripped By CFB Fans After Loss to Wake Forest Drops Record to 4-6
Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels fell 28-12 to Wake Forest on Saturday, continuing Belichick's rocky inaugural season as head coach.
With the road loss, UNC dropped to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the ACC, snapping a two-game winning streak over Syracuse and Stanford. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons improved to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
UNC's Gio Lopez threw for 201 yards without a touchdown, completing 21-of-36 passes. Jake Johnson added 54 yards on five receptions while running back Demon June finished with 32 yards on the ground on nine carries.

Belichick's squad converted just 4-of-14 third-down attempts and was outgained by Wake Forest's offense by 157 total yards. With only 56 rushing yards and limited success through the air, UNC struggled to keep pace.
Fans criticized Belichick and the Tar Heels following the loss, dropping the team to 4-6 on the season.
North Carolina got off to a disastrous start, giving up a fumble return for a touchdown to fall behind 7-0 after the first quarter.
The Tar Heels went 2-of-3 on field goal attempts in the second quarter to claw back into the game, but Wake Forest added a touchdown to take a 14-6 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, North Carolina's kickers missed another field goal while converting one, as a Wake Forest touchdown extended the Demon Deacons' lead to 21-9 entering the final quarter.
To close out the fourth, Belichick called a defensive timeout with 27 seconds remaining while trailing by nine and Wake Forest responded with a "bow‑tying" touchdown.
North Carolina will host Duke next Saturday.
