SMU QB Kevin Jennings Stuns Fans with Behind-the-Back Pass Video vs. Stanford
SMU junior quarterback Kevin Jennings elicited gasps from the crowd Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas when he completed a behind-the-back pass.
With less than seven minutes remaining in the first quarter of the Mustangs' home game against Stanford, Jennings pulled off some trickery by tossing the ball behind his back off a play fake and completing it to tight end RJ Maryland for a gain of about nine yards:

While it wasn't a huge gainer, Jennings succeeded in faking out the defense and wowing Mustangs fans.
SMU went on to take a 7-0 lead on that same drive when Jennings hit Derrick McFall for a 19-yard touchdown.
After showing some flashes over his first two collegiate seasons, Jennings truly burst onto the scene last season when he started 11 of the Mustangs' 14 games.
Jennings ended up taking sole possession of the starting job, completing 65 percent of his passes for 3,245 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, while also rushing for 354 yards and five scores.
With Jennings leading the way, the Mustangs reached the ACC Championship Game. Although they fell 34-31 to Clemson, their 11-2 record was good enough to earn them an at-large bid in the College Football Playoff.
In the program's first CFP appearance, SMU lost 38-10 to Penn State in the first round.
Entering play Saturday, SMU was 3-2 on the season with losses to Baylor and TCU, meaning the Mustangs will likely have to win the ACC title in order to return to the CFP for a second straight year.
Jennings already had 1,411 yards and 13 touchdowns through the air this season ahead of Saturday's game, but he has been somewhat mistake prone with six interceptions.
Even so, Jennings is a fan favorite due to his penchant for pulling off unexpected and spectacular plays, and that was on full display early against Stanford.
