Mike ChiariOct 3, 2025

Georgia Tech athletics announced Friday that it agreed to an apparel contract with Under Armour that will go into effect next year.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Georgia Tech and Under Armour reached a 10-year deal that will pay the school six times more than the average annual amount it earns under its current arrangement with Adidas.

The Georgia Tech-Under Armour partnership will officially start on July 1, 2026.

Georgia Tech is the latest major athletic program to strike a deal with Under Armour, joining Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Maryland, Utah and Navy.

Per an official press release circulated by Georgia Tech, the relationship between the university and Under Armour dates back nearly three decades.

In 1996, Georgia Tech's athletics department was the first in the entire NCAA to make a purchase from Under Armour, buying HeatGear and ColdGear.

On the football field, the Yellow Jackets are off to their best start since 2014, as they have compiled a perfect 5-0 record so far this season.

Ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, Georgia Tech owns one-score wins over Colorado, Clemson and Wake Forest.

Last week, the Yellow Jackets secured a come-from-behind, 30-29 road win over Wake Forest, coming out on top in overtime.

Georgia Tech is tied atop the ACC with a 2-0 conference record, and it will look to improve that mark next weekend when it hosts Virginia Tech.

On the hardwood, Georgia Tech's women's basketball team reached the NCAA tournament last season and has done so three times in the past five years, whereas the men's basketball team has gone to the dance only once in the past 15 seasons and not since the 2020-21 campaign.

Both the Georgia Tech baseball and softball teams reached the NCAA tournament last season with the baseball team accomplishing that feat five times in the past seven years and the softball team twice in the past four years.
