Tim Tebow Reveals Scouting Report on Arch Manning as Odds-On Favorite for Heisman

Mike ChiariAug 30, 2025

Legendary former University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow broke down Texas quarterback Arch Manning's game ahead of the massive clash between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State on Saturday.

During an appearance on SportsCenter (beginning at the 1:03 mark of the video), the two-time national champion, 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and current ESPN analyst gave his thoughts on the Longhorns' new QB1.

"When you really look at him and you look at his different traits, he can do everything," Tebow said of Manning. "He's extremely accurate from the pocket, he's got a quick release, he can throw the ball down the field, he can make throws to the outside. He also has great acceleration, he's a tough runner, he's handled a lot of pressure. This is someone that if you said, 'Why do you have confidence,' it's because the majority of his life since he put on a helmet, he has handled pressure."

Manning is the grandson of longtime New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning and nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and likely future Hall of Famer Eli Manning, so he has indeed always been in the spotlight.

That was true when Arch arrived at Texas two years ago as the No. 1 recruit in the nation, and fans have eagerly anticipated his elevation to the starting quarterback role.

Manning mostly sat and learned behind Quinn Ewers the past two years, although he did get several opportunities to play last season, appearing in 10 games and making two starts.

He went 2-0 in his starts, and overall Manning completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, while also rushing for 108 yards and four scores.

Although Peyton and Eli were mostly stationary, Arch is a true dual threat, which is something that played a big role in Tebow's success at Florida and helped him become a first-round pick of the Denver Broncos.

Even though Manning's starting experience at the college level is limited, there is clearly a ton of belief in his ability to take Texas to the top.

Not only are the Longhorns the No. 1 team in the country entering the season, but Manning is a +650 favorite to win the Heisman, per ESPN's Pamela Maldonado.

The college football world could learn a lot about Manning in his first start of 2025, as he will be faced with perhaps the toughest challenge possible for a new starting quarterback.

At noon ET on Saturday, Manning and the Longhorns will go into Ohio Stadium to take on an Ohio State team that is ranked third in the nation and fresh off a national championship win.

If Manning thrives in that environment, it is safe to say that all of the hype will have been justified.
