Baylor CFB Reveals Helmet Decals Honoring Alex Foster, Central Texas Flood Victims

Throughout the 2025 season, the Baylor football team will be honoring the late Alex Foster and the victims of the devastating flooding that affected Central Texas.

The Bears revealed a pair of helmet decals that will be worn during the upcoming campaign in remembrance of them:

Foster died in a shooting in his hometown of Greenville, Mississippi, in May at the age of 18. He was a 4-star defensive lineman in the 2024 class, and he redshirted during his freshman season at Baylor. He will be listed on the team's official roster for the 2025 season.

"We are heartbroken by the unexpected loss of Alex Foster, a beloved member of our football family," Baylor coach Dave Aranda and athletic director Mack Rhoades said in a joint statement after his death. "Our deepest condolences are with Alex's family and all who loved him, as we lift them up in prayer now and in the days to come. ... Alex's memory will forever be part of our hearts and this program."

During Independence Day weekend this summer, significant rainfall led to deadly flooding in Central Texas, resulting in at least 135 fatalities. Teams across multiple sports leagues pledged millions to support relief efforts in the wake of the tragedy.

Baylor will open the 2025 season on Friday in a primetime matchup against Auburn on Fox at 8 p.m. ET. The Bears are coming off an 8-5 finish to the 2024 campaign.
