Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers Disappoint Fans in Blowout Loss to Thunder in NBA Finals G2
Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers couldn't replicate their success from Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals, losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder by the final score of 123-107 in Game 2 on Sunday.
The Pacers fell behind early in the first half and never recovered, as the series is now tied 1-1.
Haliburton finished with 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting, but scored only five points in the first three quarters. He also dished out just six assists compared to five turnovers.
Fans and pundits discussed Haliburton's struggles in the defeat.
While Indiana only trailed by five points near the start of the second quarter, Oklahoma City proceeded to go on a 24-6 run that put the Pacers in a deficit they weren't able to overcome throughout the rest of the contest.
Indiana's offense struggled to stay effective, scoring just 41 points in the first half, turning the ball over 15 times.
Pascal Siakam couldn't find any consistency, shooting 3-of-11 from the field and finishing with 15 points.
Myles Turner threw down a powerful dunk in the fourth quarter, but shot just 1-of-5 from behind the arc. He recorded 16 points, four rebounds and four assists.
While Sunday's result was disappointing, the Pacers still stole a game on the road to open the Finals and will look to stay sharp at home. Indiana owns a record of 6-2 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during its 2025 playoff run.
Game 3 between the Pacers and Thunder will be on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
