French Open 2025 Men's Semifinal Preview, Predictions for Roland-Garros Bracket
As the French Open nears a close, only one question is on all of our minds: Can anyone prevent Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner from meeting in a Grand Slam final for the first time in their careers?
That question will be answered in Friday’s semifinal play, where Alcaraz will face an in-form Lorenzo Musetti, while Sinner takes on Novak Djokovic, who is on a quest for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam.
Below, we've got you covered with both a preview and an ultimate prediction of each match.

Novak Djokovic (6) vs. Jannik Sinner (1)
Lorenzo Musetti vs. Carlos Alcaraz
2 of 3
Carlos Alcaraz is just two wins away from becoming the third player in the past 25 years to successfully defend his crown at Roland-Garros.
The Spaniard was inconsistent in his first four matches but got back to dominant form in his quarterfinal victory over Tommy Paul.
He needed just 96 minutes to defeat Paul, winning 88 percent of points on first serve along with 40 winners.
Most importantly, Alcaraz was able to stay consistent throughout the entire match, committing just 22 unforced errors.
The four-time Grand Slam champion has now won 20 of 21 clay-court matches this season.
Lorenzo Musetti has also been having an impressive year on clay, reaching at least the semifinal of all three Masters 1000 clay-court events.
He's tended to trouble opponents with his top-spin-heavy one-handed backhand and defense.
However, like their previous matchups, Alcaraz should be able to get by the No. 7 seed given his current form.
Prediction: Carlos Alcaraz over Lorenzo Musetti in four sets
Novak Djokovic vs. Jannik Sinner
3 of 3
Not too long ago, facing Novak Djokovic was considered the most daunting task in all of tennis.
But that is no longer the case; just ask Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, and Jiri Lehecka.
Recently, all three of the top-35 ranked players needed at least 27 minutes just to win a single game against Jannik Sinner.
In the early days of his career, the top-ranked Italian's success was hindered by durability and consistency issues.
However, since October 23, 2023, Sinner has dominated the ATP Tour with a 103-8 record and three Grand Slam titles.
The No. 1 seed has yet to drop a set this week, spending fewer than 10 hours on the court, despite playing five best-of-five matches.
Sinner has become the most dangerous opponent to face because of his blistering power, durability, and overall consistency.
Outside of Carlos Alcaraz, there's not really another player that can defeat or significantly challenge him at the moment.
That remains true even for 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.
To progress to the final, the 38-year-old must establish baseline aggression and come out physical from the outset, similar to how he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the 2024 Paris Olympic final.
Even then, that likely won't be enough against Sinner.
Prediction: Jannik Sinner over Novak Djokovic in four sets
