Kevin Durant Reportedly Might Not Hit Trade Market Until Giannis Makes Bucks Decision
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant may not be made available on the trade market until Giannis Antetokounmpo decides on his future with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
"The expectation persists that Durant will ultimately reach the trade market this offseason, but it might not happen until there is clarity on whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will be staying in Milwaukee or seeking a trade of his own," Stein reported Saturday.

On May 12, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Antetokounmpo was "open-minded" about exploring a change of scenery for the "first time in his career."
ESPN's Brian Windhorst also reported that the Suns are expected to trade Durant during the offseason after exploring deals involving him ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline.
Waiting for Antetokounmpo to officially request a trade could allow Phoenix to gauge the market for Durant. While the Bucks superstar would command a larger potential return in a swap given his age and recent production on both ends of the floor, the Suns might gain a clearer picture of the assets they'd possibly receive for moving their star forward.
If Antetokounmpo does get dealt, teams that miss out on acquiring him could be looking to take a big swing on a trade for Durant in order to upgrade their roster.
The Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs have both been linked to Durant, and they could intensify their pursuit of the 15-time All-Star if Antetokounmpo chooses to remain in Milwaukee or is traded elsewhere.
As for Durant, the 36-year-old's MVP days may be in the rearview mirror but he's remained an efficient three-level scorer. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game on 52.7/43.0/83.9 shooting splits in 62 regular-season appearances during his 2024-25 campaign.
Durant could be headed towards a change of scenery over the summer, but it reportedly may be delayed until Antetokounmpo's future is certain.
