French Open 2025 Friday Schedule and Predictions for Roland-Garros Bracket

Nicholas NathansonMay 29, 2025

Tomorrow marks the official start of the third round of the 2025 French Open, and there are plenty of exciting matches to watch, to say the least.

In the men’s draw, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will face a resurgent Damir Dzuhmur, who is in the third round at Roland-Garros for the first time since 2018.

Sure, the defending champ is back in action, but the real headline is the all-American showdown between No. 15 seed Frances Tiafoe and No. 23 Sebastian Korda.

In the women's draw, top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka faces an extremely tough test in Olga Danilovic, who just knocked out an in-form Danielle Collins in three sets, while three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek takes on Jaqueline Cristian.

Continue reading to find out tomorrow's schedule of play along with predictions for each match.

Carlos Alcaraz Should Advance In Straight Sets

3 of 5
2025 French Open - Day Four
Carlos Alcaaz

Carlos Alcaraz benefitted from Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard losing in the second round.

The Spaniard would still have beaten the Frenchman; however, considering Perricard’s serve and the home crowd behind him, Alcaraz could have faced a physical battle earlier on than he would have hoped.

Instead, the 22-year-old will face Damir Dzhumur.

Outside of consistency and impressive footwork, the 33-year-old Bosnian lacks the firepower to cause a significant threat to Alcaraz.

The defending champion is in peak form, and it would not be surprising to see him advance in straight sets.

Sebastian Korda Will Best Frances Tiafoe In all-American Showdown

4 of 5
2025 French Open - Day Two
Sebastian Korda

Sebastian Korda and Frances Tiafoe will face off in an all-American showdown in what's expected to be one of the top matches on Friday's schedule.

The pair have only competed against each other once on clay, back in 2022, when Tiafoe won in a near-three-hour thriller at the Estoril Open.

Tiafoe holds an advantage; consider his serve—where he's won at least 76 percent of points on first serve in consecutive matches.

Furthermore, the American's forehand has been firing on all cylinders.

However, Korda has a significantly better return game on clay, and if he's able to stay consistent and take advantage at the net, he should be able to advance to the fourth round.

Iga Swiatek Will Dominate, Aryna Sabalenka Should Clear First Challenge

5 of 5
2025 French Open - Day Four
Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek cleared her first challenge, taking down one-time major champion Emma Raducanu in straight-set fashion.

In the third round, the three-time defending champion will face Jaqueline Cristian, who is in the third round of a Grand Slam for the second time in her career.

Cristian has solid groundstrokes and can hit her angles well, but the sheer physicality required to keep up with Swiatek is not something she's experienced often.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old Romanian hasn't displayed enough consistency to show that she's able to keep up.

Unlike Swiatek, top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka faces a much more difficult challenge in Olga Danilovic, who is a year removed from reaching the fourth round and is in top form after defeating Leylah Fernandez and Danielle Collins.

If Danilovic can stay consistent on her first serve and come out with baseline aggression, she can grab a set and keep it close, but Sabalenka should be able to do enough to get by.
