Carlos Alcaraz Will Win In Four Sets
3 of 5
Carlos Alcaraz's quest to win back-to-back French Open titles will continue tomorrow with a second-round matchup against Fabian Maroszan.
Maroszan won their only previous clay-court match in straight sets back in 2023 and boasts a more than respectable 6-8 record against top 10 opponents.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz has won his last seven matches while dropping one set.
Maroszan can take advantage of a slow start for the Spaniard; however, anything more than grabbing a set seems unlikely for the Hungarian against the four-time Grand Slam champion.
Pablo Carreno-Busta Will Upset Frances Tiafoe
4 of 5
Frances Tiafoe is looking to advance to the third round of the French Open for just the second time in his career.
Since reaching the finals of the Houston Open back in April, the 27-year-old has won consecutive matches just once in his last five clay tournaments.
Tiafoe will enter as the favorite against Pablo Carreno-Busta, who, despite reaching the French Open quarterfinals on two different occasions, has been limited by injuries recently.
The Spaniard is not in peak form, and if Tiafoe maintains his consistency on serve, this is a match he should win.
However, if Carreno-Busta's durability holds up, this can become a long day for Tiafoe, perhaps too physically grueling.
Iga Swiatek Will Clear First Hurdle
5 of 5
Iga Swiatek will face her first real test tomorrow when she faces Emma Raducanu in the second round.
The 23-year-old has been far from her best recently, putting into jeopardy whether she can become the first woman in the Open Era to win four consecutive titles at Roland Garros.
However, it's unlikely Raducanu can truly challenge Swiatek, considering her lack of clay-court success and her own struggles.
Even if she starts slow, Swiatek should still be able to move on in straight sets.
