Chris Paul, Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday Trade Reportedly Linked to Mavs amid NBA Rumors
The Dallas Mavericks reportedly are eyeing a handful of guards this offseason.
Per NBA insider Marc Stein, Chris Paul, Lonzo Ball and Jrue Holiday have all been linked to the Mavs. According to Stein, Dallas is "expected to at least explore" a trade with the Boston Celtics for Holiday.
Stein added that Ball is "regarded by many around the league as quite tradeable."

Paul, who spent the 2024-25 season with the San Antonio Spurs, is set to be a free agent this offseason.
Holiday still has three years and $104 million remaining on his contract, which could make a trade difficult given that the Mavs are barely under the first apron and have $10.8 million in second apron space, per Spotrac.
Still, it might be worth it to the Mavs to take on his contract as they look to put together a championship-caliber team.
Though Holiday will be 35 by the time the 2025-26 season starts, he remains a solid scoring option and one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. This year, he averaged 11.1 points and more than a steal per game.
Ball is a more affordable option as he's due $10 million next season and has a $10 million team option for the 2026-27 season. He is, however, a bit of a risky pickup considering he missed two full seasons because of injuries and played just 35 games this season.
Ball also put up just 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 2024-25, mostly coming off the bench.
Paul would seemingly be the cheapest option among the three guards, considering the 40-year-old is nearing the end of his career, but he would still be a worthwhile pickup. Despite his status as the second-oldest player in the NBA, Paul started 82 games for the Spurs and averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 assists per game.
He would be a valiant starting point guard option as the Mavs await the return of Kyrie Irving and would serve as a veteran presence to the younger players. With Dallas almost certainly set to take Cooper Flagg in the draft, having a player with Paul's experience would be invaluable.
