Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley to Earn Extra $45M on Contracts After All-NBA Nods
Some of the rising stars of the Eastern Conference have lined themselves up for nice paydays in the near future.
Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham was named to the All-NBA third team while Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley won the Defensive Player of the Year award and was named second-team All-NBA.
With these awards, both players are now eligible for an extra $45 million on their contracts.
Cunningham averaged 26.1 points, 9.1 assists and 6.1 rebounds in 70 games for the Pistons in 2024-25 season. He helped guide the team to a 44-38 record and their first postseason appearance since the 2018-19 season.
Mobley averaged 18.5 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 71 games for the Cavaliers. His efforts helped the team cruise to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
While neither franchise sustained a lengthy playoff run, it was still a step forward for each with the young stars shining. Now, they are both set to be compensated well.
Cunningham's extension will now kick in at a value of $269 million, which is a notable increase from his previous expected number of $224 million. Mobley's number will also rise to the same figure.
