Paul KasabianMay 23, 2025

Reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić, two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and now 21-time All-NBA Teamer LeBron James were among those who earned this year's All-NBA honors, which were announced on Friday.

Here's a look at the first, second and third teams, alongside some breakdowns of notable names on this year's list.

Third Team

James has now made an All-NBA team in 21 straight seasons, or every year but his 2003-04 rookie campaign.

He's a 13-time All-NBA First Teamer, a four-time Second Teamer and three-time Third Teamer. The 40-year-old, who finished sixth in the NBA MVP voting, averaged 24.4 points on 51.3 percent shooting, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game. He helped the Lakers win 50 games and earn the Western Conference's No. 3 seed.

Antetokounmpo, who finished third in the NBA MVP race, has now made seven straight All-NBA First Teams. That's the longest current First Team streak in the NBA. It's for good reason after he averaged 30.4 points on 60.1 percent shooting, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Antetokounmpo is also third in scoring since the 2019-20 season with 29.9 points per game.

Gilgeous-Alexander was obviously a First Team lock after turning in an MVP-winning season, where he guided the Thunder to an NBA-best 68-14 record. The NBA's scoring leader averaged 32.7 points per game (51.9 percent from the field) while posting 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks. The 26-year-old Gilgeous-Alexander has now made the First Team three straight seasons.

The same could be said for Jokić, a three-time NBA MVP who finished as the runner-up for that award this year. The Nuggets big man posted a career-high 29.6 points on 57.6 percent shooting (41.7 percent from three), 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists. He became just the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double over a single season, joining Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has now made four straight All-NBA First Teams after averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. He guided the defending NBA champions to a 61-win season and the Eastern Conference's No. 2 seed. Tatum has now averaged at least 26.0 PPG on 45.0 percent shooting in each of his last five seasons.
