Bill Belichick Says He's Happy with Jordon Hudson, 'She's Been Very Helpful to Me'

Adam WellsMay 16, 2025

The ongoing book tour from Bill Belichick led to a stop on Good Morning America for an interview with Michael Strahan, where he addressed his relationship with Jordon Hudson.

When asked about the attention his relationship with Hudson has brought, Belichick praised her business acumen and said "she's been very helpful to me" throughout the process of writing the book (starts at 8:20 mark).

"Yeah, well, she's been terrific, you know, through the whole process, and she's been very helpful to me," Belichick said. "She does the business things that don't relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so I can concentrate on football, and that's really what I want to do. You know, I acknowledge you in the book. She was very helpful on that with the tribute pages and also, given a perspective of the book from kind of a business side, you know, sometimes I get a little football technical and so, you know, she did a good job of keep me on balance there."

Hudson's involvement in Belichick's professional life since he was hired as North Carolina's head coach has been a hot topic of discussion.

An April 15 report from The Athletic's Matt Baker detailed the ways Hudson was managing the Belichick brand, including her being identified as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions.

Baker noted there's not a registered business record of Belichick Productions, but Belichick did sign a document with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on April 3 consenting to an application for 14 phrases.

The report also noted Belichick had requested a UNC administrator copy Hudson on certain emails, even though she doesn't have an employment agreement or contract with the university.

Last week, Pablo Torre reported on his podcast that Hudson has been banned from North Carolina's football facilities. The school denied any ban is in place in a statement after the report came out.

Belichick said on Tuesday in an interview with SportsCenter's Christine Williamson that Hudson has "doesn't have anything to do with UNC football" in response to a question about their relationship potentially impacting his ability to do his job.

Torre's reporting also noted there is "deep worry" among Belichick's family about how detrimental Hudson might be for him, both in his current position at North Carolina and his overall legacy.

Despite all of the outside turmoil, Belichick was in attendance to support Hudson over the weekend at the Miss Maine pageant, where she finished third.

Belichick is returning to coaching this season with North Carolina after sitting out 2024 following his mutual parting of ways with the New England Patriots in January 2024.

This will mark Belichick's first stint as a coach at the college level. He is taking over a Tar Heels program that has won fewer than 10 games in nine consecutive seasons.
