5-Star QB Jared Curtis Commits to Georgia Over Oregon, No. 2 Recruit in Class of 2026
Quarterback prospect Jared Curtis announced his decision to commit to Georgia once again on Monday.
Curtis is a 5-star prospect listed as the No. 1 passer and No. 2 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
He previously told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he narrowed down his list of future schools to Georgia and Oregon on Feb. 22.
Curtis initially made a verbal commitment to join the Bulldogs in March 2024, although he re-opened his recruitment seven months later.
He wrapped up an impressive junior season at Nashville Christian School in 2024, completing 70.2 percent of his passes for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns compared to a mere three interceptions (h/t 247Sports' Andrew Ivins).
Curtis also picked up 637 rush yards on 88 attempts, scoring 18 times on the ground. He helped lead Nashville Christian to a 12-1 record as well as a Tennessee Division II-A state championship.
Curtis previously discussed his thoughts on Georgia as well as offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.
“I think they’re a powerhouse and they have great coaches all around," Curtis told On3's Steve Wiltfong (h/t Johnathan Hooker of UGA Wire). "They have the players up there and they’re very disciplined. The biggest thing is the relationship with Coach Bobo and what they do with quarterbacks."
He's the first 5-star quarterback to commit to the Bulldogs since Justin Fields in 2018.
Curtis will now headline a 2026 Georgia recruiting class that only ranked No. 26 in the country prior to his decision despite the team coming off a SEC title in 2024.
He's the latest member of a group of commits that also includes wide receiver Vance Spafford, tight end Lincoln Keys and safety Kealan Jones.
