Deion Sanders, Colorado Land FSU WR Hykeem Williams in CFB Transfer Portal
After losing two-way star Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders to the NFL draft, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders continues to retool the roster in impressive fashion.
Florida State transfer wide receiver Hykeem Williams announced on Instagram that he has committed to the Buffaloes after spending the last two years with the Seminoles. He was a 5-star prospect and the No. 4 receiver in the 2023 class in 247Sports' composite.
Williams played in a total of 17 games over his two seasons at Florida State. In 2024, he made nine appearances with eight starts and recorded 16 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown. It was a slight improvement from his freshman season when he finished with five catches for 80 yards and a score. He averaged 12.7 yards per catch during his tenure with the Seminoles.
In addition to landing Williams in the transfer portal, Colorado also brought in Liberty transfer quarterback Kaidon Salter. He will be competing for the starting job with 5-star recruit Julian Lewis. During his time with the Flames, he threw for 56 touchdowns and rushed for 21 more scores.
"I fell in love with the offense," Salter said earlier this month of why he chose Colorado, per ESPN. "We have a fully loaded staff here that knows what it takes to get to the next level."
Colorado is hoping to build on last season's 9-4 finish, which included its first bowl game appearance since the 2020 season. Adding Williams will give the Buffaloes an experienced player on the outside as they try to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
