Minor League Baseball Player Emaarion Boyd Steals 6 Bases Without Recording a Hit
Miami Marlins prospect Emaarion Boyd made history by stealing six bases but recording no hits in Wednesday night for the Marlins' High-A affiliate, Beloit.
Boyd is the first minor league player to steal six bases without a hit in a game since at least 2005, MLB.com's Michael Avallone reported.
No MLB player in the modern era (since 1901) has recorded the same feat in the majors, per Avallone.

“I thought it would be even more crazy if I got eight,” Boyd told the Associated Press after the game. “I wish I could have had two more. It would have been really crazy then.”
The historic outing took place during Beloit's 10-0 win over Cedar Rapids, the High-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
Boyd got on base in the third inning thanks to a fielder's choice, after which he stole second and third before he was sent home on an RBI single.
He stole two more bases after a walk in the fifth, then stole his final two of the game following a hit-by-pitch in the seventh inning.
The fact that Boyd made it to third base three times without a hit isn't the only notable part of his performance in Wednesday's win.
He is also the only minor-leaguer to record multiple games with at least six stolen bases since 2005, having also accomplished the feat for the Philadelphia Phillies' Single-A affiliate Clearwater in 2023, per Avallone.
Originally drafted by the Phillies in the 11th round of the 2022 draft, Boyd was dealt to the Marlins last December as part of the trade for Jesús Luzardo. He has recorded two hits, one RBI, four walks, two strikeouts and seven stolen bases in five games for Beloit this season.
