Bo Bichette Says 'Nothing's on the Table' from Blue Jays After Vlad Jr. Contract
Toronto shortstop Bo Bichette said “nothing’s on the table” regarding a potential contract extension, per TV sports broadcaster Hazel Mae, following Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s reported 14-year, $500 million deal on Sunday.
However, winning a championship with the Blue Jays alongside Guerrero remains high on Bichette’s agenda.
"(It) has been my goal since I was a kid, to be with one organization my whole career, and building a winning culture with Vladdy, but nothing's on the table right now," Bichette said, per Mae.

Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays finalized an extension on Sunday after months of negotiations, agreeing to a deal with no deferrals, which means the present-day value is the "second-largest guaranteed contract in major league history," per The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
With the Blue Jays' face of the franchise locked in, the conversation is shifting toward Bichette.
Bichette and Guerrero both made their MLB debuts in 2019 and have spent their entire big league careers as teammates. However, with Bichette set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, the lack of ongoing contract talks raises concerns about his future in Toronto.
The 27-year-old Bichette, a two-time All-Star, holds a career batting average of .290. So far this season, he has recorded four RBI while hitting .286 at the plate.
One thing has remained clear: Both Vladdy and Bichette want to continue playing on the same team.
“Vladdy is one of my best friends. We’ve had tons of conversations like that,” Bichette said, per MLB.com's Keegan Matheson. “We’ve talked about playing together forever since he was 18 and I was 19. That’s still a goal of ours.”
In addition to Guerrero and Bichette, general manager Ross Atkins mentioned Daulton Varsho as part of the core trio, calling them “very exciting players who we would like to keep here for an extended period of time,” per Matheson. However, contract negotiations remain unresolved for two of the three.
