Russell Wilson Rumors: QB 'Ready to Sign' Amid Steelers, Giants' Aaron Rodgers Pursuit
Russell Wilson appears to be at the mercy of Aaron Rodgers as he continues to wait for a team to sign him in free agency.
Appearing on SportsCenter (starts at 2:27 mark), ESPN's Jeremy Fowler explained that Wilson is "ready to sign" except the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants are waiting for Rodgers to make a decision before they do anything else at quarterback right now.

Rap Shuts Down Rodgers Rumor
The Cleveland Browns are another team searching for a quarterback that Wilson visited with this week. Fowler noted the meeting between the two sides was more of a "get-to-know" each other visit and they didn't really talk about any "hard business."
ESPN's Dan Graziano reported on Thursday that the Steelers and Giants were "begging" Rodgers to sign with them.
A potential wild card in the Rodgers sweepstakes has emerged in the form of the Minnesota Vikings, though it's unclear how strong their interest is at this point.
Fowler described the Vikings as being "loosely involved" in the Rodgers' market, but the Steelers and Giants both have "standing offers" out for the four-time NFL MVP.
There's some thought that the Steelers are favored to sign Rodgers, though The Athletic's Dianna Russini noted no one with the team believes right now that Rodgers' camp has said he's going to Pittsburgh.
Given where things stand with the free-agent quarterback market right now, there are really no other viable starting options left after Rodgers and Wilson. Jameis Winston is probably the best available quarterback after that duo.
It might be a bit disappointing for Wilson to be in competition with Rodgers, especially with the Steelers involved. Team owner Art Rooney II told reporters in January his preference would be to bring back either Wilson or Justin Fields.
There were rumblings the Steelers actually preferred Fields in part because he's only 26, but they missed out when he accepted a two-year, $40 million contract from the New York Jets.
Wilson helped the Steelers make the playoffs after taking over for Fields as their starter in Week 7 last season. He threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, five interceptions and completed 63.7 percent of his attempts in 11 games.
