Dylan Harper Declares for 2025 NBA Draft, B/R's No. 2 Prospect Behind Cooper Flagg

After his breakout freshman year, Rutgers star guard Dylan Harper is ready to take his talents to the next level.

Harper announced on Monday's episode of ESPN's NBA Today that he is declaring for the 2025 NBA draft, per ESPN's Jonathan Givony. He's the No. 2 prospect on B/R's Jonathan Wasserman's draft big board behind only Duke star freshman Cooper Flagg.

The younger son of 15-year NBA veteran Ron Harper, Harper was a 5-star recruit and the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2024 in 247Sports' composite. However, the New Jersey native turned down offers from the likes of Duke, Indiana and Auburn to stay home and play for Rutgers. His decision paid off, as he quickly gained national attention for his dazzling performances.

In 29 games for the Scarlet Knights, Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.4 seals. He showcased his skills while sharing the floor with freshman forward Ace Bailey, who was the No. 2 overall recruit in the class of 2024. However, Rutgers finished with a 15-17 record and fell short of the NCAA tournament.

Harper has proved that he can be an effective primary playmaker. He can play both guard positions and has the skills to excel on or off the ball.

The team that drafts Harper will be getting a franchise cornerstone who has the potential to be a future superstar in the NBA.
