Report: Jets Told Aaron Rodgers He Couldn't Do Pat McAfee Show If He Were to Stay
The new regime for the New York Jets led by head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey reportedly had some conditions for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers if he wanted to remain with the team.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported on Tuesday's episode of Scoop City that Rodgers' weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee Show were among the things that would have to change if he wished to continue his tenure in New York.
"I was told that when they had conversations with Aaron Rodgers about the future would look like, [they said,] 'If you're gonna be a part of this team, you're gonna attend all of training camp, you're not gonna do Pat McAfee interviews anymore,'" Russini said at the 28:10 mark.

Multiple reports surfaced over the weekend saying that Rodgers is unlikely to return to the Jets in 2025 if he chooses to continue his playing career. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that the four-time NFL MVP flew to New Jersey last week to meet with Glenn and Mougey and was informed that the team would part ways with him.
Rodgers is known for his unique interests outside of football, and he's used his interviews on The Pat McAfee Show to show different sides of himself. However, Russini explained that's not going to fly with the Jets as Glenn and Mougey try to rebuild the team's culture.
"This, to me, is Aaron Glenn getting control back. ... I think it's Aaron Glenn that's the one pushing for, 'I'm holding everyone accountable, and every single person on this team is going to be treated the same way,'" Russini said.
