Taj Williams to TCU: Horned Frogs Land 4-Star WR Prospect
The TCU Horned Frogs are primed to be one of the best football teams in the nation this season, and the future looks even brighter with the addition of wide receiver prospect Taj Williams.
Williams announced his decision to join the Horned Frogs via his Twitter page:
"God Is Truly Good man I can't wait see you again in December Fort Worth #TOOCOLDU I'm a HornFrog #FunkyTown pic.twitter.com/Lg1zOF5sqe

The 6’3” and 180-pound Williams is a junior college prospect from Iowa Western Community College. He is a 4-star player, per 247Sports’ composite rankings, and is the No. 1-ranked junior college prospect in the country for the class of 2016.
TCU landed Williams over the likes of Auburn, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Florida, among others.
If the No. 1 ranking wasn't indication enough, TCU’s passing game will be much more formidable thanks to this addition. He is a speedy threat who can play on the outside or the slot and beat defenders in a variety of ways.
Williams played at Iowa Western Community College last year and racked up 949 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, per the team’s official website. Unlike high school recruits, Williams will arrive at TCU with collegiate experience already under his belt, which should help him compete for a starting spot right away.
Jeremiah Glenn of 247Sports noted that this is a perfect fit on paper:
"While TCU is battling Florida, Auburn, Nebraska, OU and others for Taj Williams, the 6'3" 180 pound receiver seems to love the Horned Frogs and the feeling is mutual with the TCU staff. Many see Taj Williams as a faster, more athletic Josh Doctson, and the thought of that is sending shivers down the spines of fellow Big 12 teams. A perfect fit for the high flying Frogs' offense, Taj Williams could help set the tone for the remainder of the 2016 class for the Frogs.
"
Williams boasts the sure speed and soft hands necessary to be a legitimate weapon in this TCU offense. What’s more, he is a red-zone nightmare for cornerbacks at 6’3” because he can high-point the football on lobs and beat defenders who press too much with impressive moves at the line of scrimmage.
The up-tempo Horned Frogs offense is difficult enough to stop as it is for defenses in the Big 12 and across the country. Now they will have a proven junior college threat ready to make a name for himself on a potential championship contender in 2016.
