Real Madrid vs. Getafe: Score, Grades and Reaction from La Liga
In a crazy game at the Bernabeu, Real Madrid beat Getafe by an astonishing 7-3 scoreline in their final match of the campaign, with Cristiano Ronaldo grabbing a dramatic first-half hat-trick.
Carlo Ancelotti rang the changes as his Madrid team stepped out on the home pitch for the final time this season.
Club legend Iker Casillas stepped back into the Los Blancos spotlight for what could be the final time, and it was to prove an eventful night for the former World Cup winner.

Real wasted no time in getting proceedings underway, as Ronaldo opened the scoring after 13 minutes. The mercurial attacker provided the watching masses with a classic CR7-branded, far-post header after Marcelo was given too much space on the ball for his cross.

However, the home side's lead did not last long, as Getafe grabbed an unlikely equaliser nine minutes later.
Sergio Escudero attempted an effort from distance, and his shot beat Casillas, leading to a chorus of boos from the Madrid faithful. It was an awful way to treat a legend who could be leaving the club, but worse was yet to come.
Six minutes later, Diego Castro grabbed the shock lead for the visitors, curling a beautiful effort into the corner of Casillas' goal from 20 yards, once again triggering an adverse reaction to the Madrid goalkeeper.
However, with the goals falling like rain, it was left to Ronaldo to level the match with his second—with a 30-yard free-kick. Getafe's lead had lasted just six minutes, and more drama was to follow.
ESPN's Dermot Corrigan highlighted a landmark for goal machine Ronaldo:

Within a blink of an eye, Madrid won a penalty after Chicharito was pushed in the area, and it was left up to the prolific CR7 to step up and bag himself a 34-minute hat-trick.
It seemed that Madrid would now resume control of the match, but the La Decima Champions League holders were shocked for a third time as midfielder Medhi Lacen notched Getafe's third.
The player lashed the ball past Casillas, who was rooted to the spot, leaving the Madrid public speechless.
AS commented on Getafe's third goal:
And presenter Phil Kitromilides highlighted the relevance of Getafe's third:

The teams went in at half-time level, but Madrid came out of the dressing room firing, hitting Getafe with a classic one-two combination.
First, Chicharito found the target after Ronaldo hit the post, and moments later, James Rodriguez executed the perfect direct free-kick, taking Madrid to a 5-3 lead after just six minutes of the second half.
The brilliant Colombian was involved again when Madrid grabbed their sixth of the night from the popular Jese, who slotted the ball away expertly to score his goal.
The strike sucked the life out of Getafe, and Madrid took the opportunity to introduce teenage prodigy Martin Odegaard, who became the club's youngest senior player, per the Champions League official Twitter account:

With the game edging to its conclusion, Casillas was warmly addressed by the same fans who had booed him—and they all sang his name in unison to thank him for his time at the club.
And as the clock turned to 90 minutes, defender Marcelo made a final lung-busting run to get into the box, hitting Madrid's seventh of the night.
The match ended 7-3, with Madrid finishing second in the La Liga table. Their 92 points would have won the title last season, but it's only good enough to be runners-up this time around.
Relevant Player Grades
Cristiano Ronaldo: A

There seems to be nothing that the former Manchester United man cannot do, but Saturday he cantered around the Bernabeu, scoring goals at will.
With the talent available in the Madrid team, it is a surprise CR7 and Co. could not take Barcelona to the last day for the title, but Ronaldo will be back next year, desperate for the La Liga crown.
James Rodriguez: B
The Colombian has had a fine first year at Los Blancos, and with every game, he appears to improve. Getafe could not track him in the second half, and he was the player who took the game away from the plucky visitors.
Iker Casillas: D
A sad day for the club legend, with the Madrid crowd booing him for the Getafe goals. He is a spent force and will surely find his days in the Spanish capital are now over—unless he is happy with life on the bench.
Post-Match Reaction
Carlo Ancelotti was in a reflective mood in his post-match press conference, and spoke about his future as Real Madrid coach, per SocialRMadrid:
"Ancelotti: "I have spoken with the players because it was the last game. I've thanked them for the effort."
— SocialRMadrid (@SocialRMadrid) May 23, 2015"
"Ancelotti: "I do not forget what we did last year. As of this year. You have to consider everything to improve."
— SocialRMadrid (@SocialRMadrid) May 23, 2015"
"Ancelotti: "If the club tells me that they don't want me, I will not be happy. But those are things that happen in my work."
— SocialRMadrid (@SocialRMadrid) May 23, 2015"
Cristiano Ronaldo made his thoughts clear about his manager, and took to social media to profess his feelings:
The constantly revolving door at Madrid suggests the Italian's time at the Bernabeu might be up. His La Decima success of last term should not be forgotten, as Ancelotti eluded, but with Jurgen Klopp now on the market, Los Blancos may choose a different style and coach.
However, 92 points in a season should not be seen as a failure, despite the absence of silverware.
