EPL Results Week 36: Premier League Scores, Top Scorers and 2015 Table Tracker
Queens Park Rangers suffered relegation to the Championship and left England's top flight with a whimper. QPR were thrashed 6-0 by deposed champions Manchester City.
The win not only cemented City's grip on second spot, it also tightened Sergio Aguero's grip at the top of the scoring charts. Aguero bagged a hat-trick to take his season tally in the league to an impressive 25.
While City's top-four status is secure, Liverpool's hopes of finishing in the Champions League places were all but dashed after a 1-1 draw at champions Chelsea.

Manchester United pulled away from Selhurst Park with a 2-1 victory on Saturday, bringing an end to their three-match losing streak and improving their chances of a top-four finish.
At the other end of the standings, Week 36 brought the first relegation of the 2014-15 campaign as Burnley dropped back to the Championship despite beating Hull City 1-0, per Kicca:

Monday Recap

What looked like a disappointing draw at Emirates Stadium instead turned into a stunning 1-0 loss for Arsenal on their home pitch to Swansea City.
Swansea's Bafetimbi Gomis found the back of the net with a spectacular header in the 85th minute to shock the Gunners. A win would have tied Arsenal with Manchester City for second in the Premier League table.
OptaJoe highlighted how Gomis has been in great form as of late:
Swans manager Garry Monk expressed appreciation for the legion of fans who made the road trip:
What has to frustrate the Gunners most is they held firm control of possession at 68 percent got nine shots on goal to Swansea's three. Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski did a marvelous job to preserve a clean sheet amid an assaulting Arsenal attack.
Manchester United is next on the schedule for the Gunners. Manager Arsene Wenger's side will have a tough time bouncing back from missing the golden opportunity to notch three points—especially after being unbeaten in 10 previous league matches.
Swansea have responded well since a disappointing loss to Leicester City, having won their past three Premier League matches. Another tough test is on the horizon in the form of Manchester City this next Sunday at Liberty Stadium.
Sunday Recap
City simply tore through a Rangers team that had clearly given up the fight long ago. As he often does, Aguero led the charge, routinely tying an ageing and cumbersome QPR defence in knots.
The likes of Richard Dunne and Clint Hill simply couldn't get near City's quick, fluid and rampant forward line. Undoubtedly the highlight of City's six-goal haul was the final strike netted by David Silva. It came after fine work from centre-forward Wilfried Bony, who smartly and delicately backheeled the ball into the pocket-edition playmaker's path.
It was a brilliant move that marked a milestone in front of goal for Silva, per Squawka Football:
That goal perfectly summed up everything good about City, even as what will be considered a disappointing season draws to a close. Manager Manuel Pellegrini's team have been very shaky at the back but remain bold and creative up front.
The Chilean boss has ensured City stay committed to a philosophy based on expansive and attractive football. That's why the Citizens are the most prolific side in the league.
It's also why Aguero is one of the most free-scoring strikers in Europe and seems certain to pick up the Golden Boot, per WhoScored.com:
Facing Chelsea for the last time, outgoing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard netted his team's equaliser after John Terry had headed the Blues in front. Terry's goal was a landmark one for a defender in England's top flight, per OptaJoe:
Gerrard's final visit to Stamford Bridge produced a classy performance as Squawka Football detailed:
But as an icon of the past waved goodbye, one possible star of the future raised eyebrows for the hosts. Teenage midfield powerhouse Ruben Loftus-Cheek enjoyed a solid and assured debut.
The 19-year-old rarely wasted possession:
Chelsea were typically just efficient enough not to get beat as they close out a title-winning campaign. Meanwhile, Liverpool are in for a summer of full-scale rebuilding after crashing out of the top four post-Luis Suarez.
Saturday Recap
Marouane Fellaini was the hero for Manchester United against Crystal Palace after his 78th-minute header at Selhurst Park gave the Red Devils a 2-1 win in what was always shaping up to be a tough outing.
Alex Shaw of ESPN was sure to note David de Gea's goal-saving contributions in clinching the result for United, while Ashley Young was also deserving of his praise to assist Fellaini's winner:
Juan Mata opened the scoring from the penalty spot thanks to Scott Dann's handball, but De Gea had no chance of stopping Jason Puncheon's free-kick equaliser early in the second period.
During the fixture, ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher made sure to pile any hurt on Red Devils supporters, touching on the speculation linking De Gea with a summer move away:
United were ultimately able to prevail in London, however, and push themselves back seven points above Liverpool, all but assuring themselves of Champions League football next season.
After the win, Van Gaal was quoted by BBC Sport noting the close parameters of the win, but also appreciating United's journey back to Europe's elite competition is far from complete:
"You never know, we still have to win one point I believe. We have made a very important step. We have worked so hard, the players showed the team spirit so goo. I am very proud. When you are fighting like this every week, we are difficult to beat.
David de Gea did it several times this season, I am vey happy he saved it because at the time it could have been 2-1 for Crystal Palace.
"
With the title now decided, a lot of Premier League attention naturally diverts to the bottom of the table. It was a hugely profitable Saturday for some threatened teams, as Leicester City, Burnley and Sunderland each tasted victory.
A 2-0 triumph over Southampton gave Leicester their sixth win in seven outings, with Bet365 using some of manager Nigel Pearson's own material to illustrate the resurgent form the Foxes are enjoying:
Riyad Mahrez was the orchestrator of their success against Saints, netting twice in the opening 20 minutes, but perhaps the biggest victory was Leicester keeping back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season.
As previously mentioned, Burnley's drop to England's second tier was also cemented Saturday, even though Danny Ings led them to a 1-0 win against Hull. Match of the Day's Gary Lineker sympathised with the Turf Moor outfit:
There was some sympathy to be felt for Tottenham Hotspur, too, after Mauricio Pochettino's side saw their Champions League hopes officially reduced to nothing following a 3-0 defeat to Stoke City.
Squawka pointed to defence as the north Londoners' key area in need of addressing this summer as the Potters equalled their best-ever Premier League points tally of 50:
Charlie Adam, Steven N'Zonzi and Mame Biram Diouf were each on the scoresheet for Mark Hughes, but a third game without victory for Spurs raises yet more concerns in their consistency.
Sunderland and Aston Villa remain separated by fine margins after each clinched three-point hauls to pull away from the drop zone, with the Black Cats beating Everton 2-0 on Merseyside while Tim Sherwood's men edged West Ham 1-0.
Three points were enough to see Dick Advocaat's side up to 14th for a period, but Sunderland have an ace up their sleeve in the form of a game in hand over their similarly threatened peers.
More than two years since moving to the Stadium of Light, Danny Graham rose to score his first Sunderland goal at Goodison Park before Jermain Defoe added a second. BBC Sport acknowledges it may not be time to celebrate yet, though:
Villa's 1-0 win over the Hammers, meanwhile, puts them four points above the bottom three thanks to Tom Cleverley's 31st-minute intervention.
As illustrated by FourFourTwo's Stats Zone, Clarets youngster Jack Grealish continues to thrive under Sherwood and was pivotal in setting up the only goal of the day at Villa Park:
Newcastle United looked at risk of falling to defeat at home against West Bromwich Albion, but a Victor Anichebe opener stood for only nine minutes before Ayoze Perez responded.
A 1-1 draw means the Magpies now sit just a point off the bottom three, level on points with rivals Sunderland, leaving QPR and West Ham as their last two games of the season.
