Chelsea vs. Manchester City: Score and Report from FA Youth Cup Final
Chelsea claimed a second straight FA Youth Cup title following a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the second leg of the final on Monday night at Stamford Bridge.
Both clubs fielded under-18 sides, with Chelsea claiming a 5-2 aggregate victory after last week's 3-1 win in the first leg at City.
Kelechi Iheanacho put City ahead in the seventh minute, but the lead proved brief as Chelsea responded with Izzy Brown's 20th-minute strike. Tammy Abraham then netted the winner—his 39th tally of the season—in the first minute of the second half.

It's a second consecutive triumph in the FA Youth Cup for Chelsea following last season's thrilling 7-6 final victory over Fulham. Such a record would be a proud achievement for any club, but for Chelsea, it could serve as further proof that sustained success lies on the horizon.
With the senior side currently leading the Premier League and all but assured of the title, Chelsea's youth ranks are overflowing with promise thanks to talents like Brown, Dominic Solanke, Jeremie Boga, Charly Musonda, Charlie Colkett and Jay Dasilva.
During the first half of Monday's final, the Daily Mail's Adam Shergold heaped special praise on Boga and Dasilva:
"Two Chelsea players, for me, have caught the eye in this first-half. The first is Jeremie Boga, their French playmaker who missed the first leg through illness.
He's certainly making up for it tonight and, dare I say it, is showing a few flashes of Eden Hazard-esque play. A few minutes ago, he spun around Kean Bryan 30 yards from his own goal and set off on a barnstorming run through the middle.
The other is the left-back Jay Dasilva, who is about as far from a left-back tonight as it's possible to be. He used to play as a winger and it's easy to see why.
He's continually making darts past the forwards Izzy Brown and Dominic Solanke. He just can't be restrained.
"
Meanwhile, B/R's Sam Tighe and BBC Sport's Ben Smith singled out Musonda for his performance in a deep midfield role:
Chelsea began the match with a two-goal cushion from the first leg, but Man City quickly found a way back into the tie with an early goal in enemy territory.
In the seventh minute, Aaron Nemane burst forward on the right before crossing into the middle for Iheanacho, who bundled in with his thigh past Chelsea 'keeper Bradley Collins for a 1-0 City lead.
With that, the visitors trailed by only a single goal on aggregate, placing the tie precariously in the balance. Chelsea were stunned but responded with a half-chance of their own in the 10th minute. Brown tried to control a long pass in the box, only to see City clear for a corner.

The hosts didn't have to wait much longer for the equaliser, drawing level in the 20th minute. Colkett whipped in a corner from the right and picked out Brown, who rose above Iheanacho and headed on goal. City's Bersant Celina had a chance to clear on the line but couldn't stop the ball from bouncing in.
Now trailing 4-2 on aggregate, City came close on a couple of occasions shortly thereafter. In the 22nd minute, Collins made a fine save to stop an Iheanacho header. Two minutes later, Collins thwarted the Nigerian again, this time keeping out a shot from the edge of the box.
Chelsea began to dominate as half-time approached and had a chance to kill off the tie just before the break. Pouncing on a poor clearance by City in the 45th minute, Solanke turned and drilled a low shot just wide of the post.
Within moments of the restart, Chelsea netted their second goal, which effectively sealed the title. Brown and Solanke combined on the left, with Solanke laying off for Abraham to slot in for a 2-1 lead on the night and a 5-2 advantage on aggregate.

Abraham came close again in the 51st minute, shooting just wide of Kjetil Haug's left-hand post. The hosts had another chance 12 minutes later, when Jake Clarke-Salter powered a header into the stanchion behind the goal.
City had the ball in the net via Isaac Buckley, but the strike was ruled out for a foul on Buckley in the buildup.
But if anything, Chelsea posed the greater threat as full-time approached. Two minutes from time, Solanke laid off for Ruben Sammut as the hosts broke forward at pace, but the latter's shot rolled just wide of the post.
After three minutes of added time, City were well beaten and Chelsea were worthy winners.
