Inside Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: TV Schedule and Preview for Episode 2

Brian MaziqueApr 24, 2015

The second episode of the Showtime special series Inside Mayweather vs. Pacquiao premieres on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. After the first episode, fans can get ready for more sleek presentation, stylish production and a boatload of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The first episode in the four-part series served as a bit of a history lesson for those who may not know a lot about Mayweather's upbringing and backstory. For those who didn't catch it, you can watch the entire episode in the video below.

The second episode should be more of the same, but I'd expect for it to focus a bit more on the events and preparation leading up to this fight. Here's a quick trailer for episode No. 2.

In the event you're unable to catch the second episode when it airs initially, it will be available via On Demand. Check out the table below for the dates and times for all four episodes, per ESPN.com's Dan Rafael.

Not Just Another Fight

Part of Mayweather's persona almost requires that he display bravado and exude confidence but if you read between the lines, you can tell he knows this fight is not just another bout. It would appear that he respects Manny Pacquiao as much, if not more, than any of his previous opponents.

In episode No. 1, we saw Mayweather going back to an old training practice of chopping wood. It's something he admitted he hadn't done in years.

Why would a fighter of Mayweather's ilk, who is undefeated, revitalize a training method? Because he knows he must be at his very best to beat the opponent at hand. Saturday's episode is likely to show more evidence of that.

Will Any of Mayweather's Issues Away from the Ring Be Discussed?

From the looks of the preview, the answer is probably "no." This is just one opinion, but it would be good if that stuff was omitted. If there was a shirt I could wear that read, "I Came Here For the Boxing," it would be on my back right now.

There's obviously some news to cover as it pertains to Mayweather's past legal issues. Those issues have been addressed by the judicial system. There's not much that we can add to the narrative by discussing those events.

This fight is so big that it would be a shame to waste time talking too much about something that's completely unrelated to the primary news story. So unless someone does something stupid before May 2, let's concentrate on the fight.
