Recap
Liverpool moved to within one point of Division one leaders Manchester United with a comprehensive 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Friday, as Samed Yesil fired the Reds to victory with a a brace, per the club's official Twitter account:
The visitors had lost their last two outings, against Fulham and Leicester City, and were in dire need of three points to keep up with the Mancunians.
United have won their last two matches and still hold a game in hand, so Friday's win was pivotal for Liverpool. Tottenham have been inconsistent at best this year but have shown the explosive firepower to beat even the top teams, but an early deficit doomed their chances of springing the upset.
In Friday's other two matches, Sunderland beat Fulham 2-0 and Norwich continued their fine form with a 2-1 win over West Ham United.

Reading's was a very impressive away win at the Emirates against an Arsenal side containing Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Serge Gnabry.
The Gunners enjoyed long periods of possession but could not break down the visitors, who put in an excellent defensive display.
It was, in fact, a defender who scored the decisive goal also, Niall Keown breaking the deadlock from a corner in the opening 10 minutes.
He rose highest to head home into the far corner after Conor Shaughnessy had pressed well to force the set piece, per the club's Twitter feed:
Wilshere had a number of chances throughout the match, and Arsenal will perhaps feel hard done-by after failing to score, although they were guilty of a lack of clinical finishing, and Reading defended very well.
The Royals have now picked up four wins in a row and are lining themselves up very well for a chance at promotion to Division 1 in the U21 Premier League.
In the top division, Leicester saw off Liverpool in fine fashion, winning 3-1 courtesy of a Joe Dodoo double and a Tom Lawrence strike.
Harry Wilson scored for the Reds at King Power Stadium, but the hosts had the better of most of the match and were deserved winners.
Dodoo's opener early in the first half was deflected in after a Jack Barmby assist, and Lawrence made it 2-0 before the break with a curling strike from the edge of the area.
Wilson got his side back into the game early in the second half, firing home from the spot after being hauled down in the area by Jak McCourt.
But Leicester restored the two-goal cushion with just under 20 minutes remaining, Dodoo finishing off a fine counter-attack. City manager Steve Beaglehole was unsurprisingly delighted after the final whistle:
In the day's least exciting match, Norwich and Sunderland played out a goalless draw, the Black Cats' Tom McNamee having been sent off early in the second half.
