Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: Best MLB DFS DraftKings Lineup for April 8
It doesn't take long for MLB's 162-game grind to hit its regular-season stride. We have gotten right into it in daily fantasy baseball, and we break down the best DFS DraftKings lineup for Wednesday, April 8. We'll be highlighting a stacking opportunity in the high-scoring Colorado Rockies-Milwaukee Brewers series and two big-time Dominican bats with great batter vs. pitcher matchup histories versus the Philadelphia Phillies' Aaron Harang—as if you needed a reason to slot David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez into your lineups.
Starting Pitchers
Michael Pineda, New York Yankees ($7,500)

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Pineda might have been 0-2 against the Toronto Blue Jays last year, but those were two solid starts, allowing just three earned runs in 12 innings. He had a solid spring, and we like riding the Yankees to bounce back from the Opening Day loss at home to the Jays.
Shelby Miller, Atlanta Braves ($7,200)
I have loved following third-year starting pitchers for years. Miller is as exciting as they come in that category this year. We like him getting started in his Braves debut here with six quality innings, five-plus strikeouts and a victory.
Ranking the Elite
- Jordan Zimmermann, Washington Nationals ($9,200)
- Jacob deGrom, New York Mets ($8,500)
- Brandon McCarthy, Los Angeles Dodgers ($7,900)
Bargain Plays
- Rick Porcello, Boston Red Sox ($6,900)
- Jeremy Hellickson, Arizona Diamondbacks ($6,100)
- Miguel Gonzalez, Baltimore Orioles ($6,400)

Infielders
C Jonathan Lucroy, Milwaukee Brewers ($4,200)
Lucroy is 0-for-8 on the season, but he is due. As long as he is in the lineup against the Colorado Rockies and Eddie Butler ($5,000)—never a certainty with catchers in three consecutive games—there will be points coming from Lucroy. The Brewers and Rockies remains the series to stack in lineups, with the Brewers side getting a slight edge after back-to-back blowout losses.
- Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants ($4,400)
- Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals ($3,800)—very good numbers against Jose Quintana
1B David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox ($4,500)
"Big Papi" draws Aaron Harang in a hitter's park. He has five hits in 11 at-bats (four for extra bases) with six RBI against him, per DailyBaseballData.com. We don't tend to overrate this data, except when it makes complete sense as this instance seems to. Ride this bat in all lineups Wednesday night.
- Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds ($4,600)
- Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves ($4,500)
2B Daniel Murphy, New York Mets ($4,000)
We have to admit, we don't like taking hitters against an ace like Zimmermann, but Murph has Z's number. The Mets second baseman doesn't hit many homers, but he has three in 50 career at-bats against the Nats starter (16-for-50, .320). Everyone else will have Dustin Pedroia ($4,000) in their lineup, but Murph is your contrarian play.
- Dustin Pedroia, Boston Red Sox ($4,000)
- Jose Altuve, Houston Astros ($4,500)
3B Nolan Arenado, Colorado Rockies ($4,300)
Here's one of the stacking plays in what should be among the highest-scoring games of the night. Arenado also has hits in both of his career at-bats against the Milwaukee Brewers' Wily Peralta, per DailyBaseballData.com.
- Evan Longoria, Tampa Bay Rays ($4,300)
- Aramis Ramirez, Milwaukee Brewers ($4,100)
SS Hanley Ramirez, Boston Red Sox ($4,800)
If you thought the Papi matchup was intriguing, check this one out. Ramirez has five homers in 29 at-bats off Harang. You also have to love Ramirez after his hot start Monday and hitting in that hitter-friendly ballpark.
- Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado Rockies ($5,100)
- Jimmy Rollins, Los Angeles Dodgers ($3,900)
Outfielders
Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles ($4,600)
Jones will be in a lot of lineups against Jake Odorizzi because of his eight hits in 14 career at-bats against the Tampa Bay Rays right-hander, per DailyBaseballData.com.
Corey Dickerson, Colorado Rockies ($4,800)
He is hotter than a firecracker and is one of the stacking plays of the night. Ride his hot hand, especially because he is 4-for-7 (.571) with a homer and a double against Peralta.
Desmond Jennings, Tampa Bay Rays ($4,100)
There is a lot to like about Jennings in this potential breakthrough year. First, he had a great spring and has a hit in each of the first two games of the regular season. Oh, and there is also the matter of four of his 47 career homers coming off the Orioles' Miguel Gonzalez ($6,400), per DailyBaseballData.com. Now that's seeing the ball well in a batter vs. pitcher matchup.
- Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins ($5,000)
- Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies ($4,600)
- Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals ($4,300)
