FA Cup 2015: Live Stream, Form Guide for Blackburn vs. Liverpool
Liverpool will be looking to escape their Premier League malaise when they face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in their FA Cup quarter-final replay.
The two teams played out an arduous 0-0 draw at Anfield last time they met, with neither side able to seize their chance and book a spot in the Wembley semi-final.
But with a winner needed on the night this time round, drama is guaranteed when the Championship club host their illustrious Premier League opponents. Subsequently, it should be a fantastic atmosphere at a traditional stadium that bristles with history and culture.

Rovers Out to Shock Toiling Reds

Brendan Rodgers’ team have been superb for the majority of this calendar year, with the side flourishing in a 3-4-3 formation and playing with an intensity that the vast majority of opponents have really struggled to cope with. But as of late, there have been some signs that this is a system which is beginning to get found out by opponents.
It’s two defeats in a row now for Liverpool after that heavy loss to Arsenal and with Emre Can, Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard all suspended for the trip to Ewood Park, Rodgers will have to make do without some key players if his side are going to get to Wembley.

As noted by football writer SamuelJayC, given their top-four chase looks likely to be an ill-fated one, it’s a season-defining game for the Reds:
It’s something star midfielder Philippe Coutinho also touched upon in the aftermath of that defeat at the Emirates, per the club’s official website:
"Winning the cup would save our season. It is very important for us to have that as an objective.
We have to pick ourselves up after what happened against Arsenal to get the results that we need. We want to be in the Champions League. That is our primary objective. We have seven games left and we have to see what happens.
"

Despite the players that are missing, there is still plenty of quality within the group. Raheem Sterling has been a figure of mass focus over the past week, but against the Gunners there were some small signs he’s getting back to his best. Daniel Sturridge will also surely start against the Championship side too, giving Liverpool an incisive edge up top.
Rovers will be tough opposition though, and they warmed up for this game in the best possible fashion. They hammered Leeds United 3-0 at the weekend and after nullifying Liverpool’s attacking weapons for the majority of the clash at Anfield, they’ll be hoping home advantage can sway the tie in their favour second time round.

But not too dissimilar to their opponents, they could also be without a host of vital players, with Gary Bowyer’s side enduring something of an injury crisis, per the Liverpool Echo:
As noted by James Pearce in the aforementioned piece, the rumbustious Rudy Gestede—who was a big threat in the first game between the two—limped off during the match at Elland Road. He’s one of 10 players in the squad that are reportedly dealing with fitness problems in the build-up to this showpiece fixture.

Andy Kelly of the Liverpool Echo thinks the omission of the Benin striker would be a major miss for the 1995 Premier League winners:
With what will surely be a raucous Ewood Park crowd behind them, Blackburn will be confident of shocking a Liverpool side that have been way short of their best as of late. As such, expect them to take more risks than they did at Anfield and look to put what could be a makeshift Reds back four under pressure.
But with Rovers set to show a little more ambition, that will play into Liverpool’s hands. The space created by Blackburn coming forward will allow the likes of Sterling and Coutinho to cause big problems and ultimately, their class will tell throughout what should be a much more open affair than the game on Merseyside.
Prediction: Blackburn 1-3 Liverpool
