Luis Suarez Speaks on Potential Liverpool Return
Luis Suarez may no longer be a Liverpool icon, but the Barcelona ace still holds firm loyalties with the Reds after proclaiming they're the only outfit he'd ever join if he were to make a Premier League return.
After featuring in an All-Star charity game at Anfield on Sunday, Suarez pledged his love for the Merseyside outfit, quoted by the Liverpool Echo's Chris Beesley as hinting a comeback may materialise one day:
"You never know in football what the future holds but if I ever play in England again I will play for the Liverpool team and not another team. It’s great to come back to Anfield. Not just for the old players coming back but those who play now and for the supporters, for Stevie and the foundation - it was a special game.
I’ve missed the fans. The atmosphere is unbelievable, it’s amazing. Everyone who’s played for Liverpool knows how important the supporters are. They know they are in my heart.

Suarez is just coming upon his best form since moving to the Camp Nou last summer for £75 million, but it seems even that success won't allow the striker to forget his roots on Merseyside.
The official Liverpool Twitter account illustrated that the sentiment is mutual too, as Suarez's name echoed from the Kop stand during Sunday's friendly fixture:
Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 total appearances for Liverpool across his three-and-a-half-year tenure with the Reds, per Transfermarkt, and Brendan Rodgers would undoubtedly welcome him back with open arms.
That's especially the case after it came to light this week that injury-plagued forward Daniel Sturridge could be out of action for a month with a muscle tear, per Sky Sports:
According to Transfermarkt, Suarez has netted 15 goals and made 14 assists for the Blaugrana since joining, playing a direct hand in a goal every game on average.
Given his emerging success in Barcelona, it's difficult to envision a return to England for the South American anytime soon, but Liverpool will take subtle comfort in knowing they have first chance at his services should they become available.
