Anfield Clash Will Define Season

To say the buzz surrounding Sunday's meeting between Liverpool and United is reaching a massive crescendo would be an understatement. As shared by Bleacher Report UK, even an absolute legend of the sport will be present to take in the spectacle:
Both teams have won their last three. Both are part of the pack chasing a Champions League ticket, along with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton. Both really, really don't like each other.
One match can never decide an entire season, particularly with eight matches left to play once it's over. Sky Sports' Gary Neville doesn't think Sunday's clash will decide the outcome of the race for the top four, and he's partly right:
But with eight matches left to play, momentum is everything. Liverpool have plenty of it—United not so much. And with the likes of Tottenham and Southampton not so far behind, this is not the time of the year to start dropping points.
The good news for the visitors is that a win at Anfield can hand Louis van Gaal's men the kind of boost they need to finish the season on a strong note, and the same goes for Liverpool. That's why Ashley Young is already talking about pulling out all of the stops, via MailOnline Sport:
Any other year, it would be easy to gloss over this match and say that for Sunday's losers, there's plenty of football left to be played. But with so many clubs seemingly vying for just a handful of Champions League tickets, the mental impact of a loss against your rivals can be devastating.
Don't be shocked if the losers of Sunday's match suddenly drop two or even more results in the coming weeks, all but ending their chances of finishing in the top four.
Chelsea's "Slide" Ends in Hull

Chelsea's consistency during the 2014-15 campaign has been remarkable. Across all competitions, their longest winless streak has been two matches, via WhoScored.com, and that has only happened three times.
The squad's incredible talent is a strong reason for that, but there's more that comes into play. The Blues have been so dominant, people start using the word "slump" as soon as they drop two matches in a row. And every time that happens, manager Jose Mourinho explodes in his post-match presser. Case in point, against Southampton (via The Independent's Miguel Delaney):
This is something he has done all season, and it has worked to perfection. He'll fire shots at Arsenal or talk about penalty decisions, and while pundits are busy reacting to those comments, his team's actual performance gets somewhat pushed to the background.
At the same time, Mourinho creates a sense of "us against the world,"engages in even more banter and by the end of the week, his side is ready to show everyone why they have the lead in the standings. Delaney expects the same scenario to unfold this time around:
You can dislike the Special One all you want, but his mind games have a purpose and simply work. Hull City are winless in their last three and engaged in a battle against relegation—Sunday's match shouldn't present too much of a challenge for the Blues.
