EPL Table: Latest Week 29 Results, Scores and 2015 Premier League Standings
If you're a Manchester City fan, or anyone connected with the club, give yourself a swift kick. Make it a hard one.
City know they wasted a great opportunity in the title race when they lost to Burnley. That was reinforced when leaders Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton.
City's bid to retain the Premier League title is in tatters after a controversial 1-0 defeat at Burnley. The Citizens were poor throughout, but they will rue being denied a clear penalty in stoppage time after Pablo Zabaleta was felled in the box.

Meanwhile, relegation-threatened duo Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers took a step closer to playing in the Championship next season. The former will certainly regret not being able to beat 10-man Hull City at home.

United and Everton Score Big Wins
Two teams needing league points scored 3-0 home wins. United stayed in the hunt for second after an emphatic display, the perfect response to the FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Arsenal.
Belgian powerhouse Marouane Fellaini continued the revival of his United career with a stunning display, per WhoScored.com:
Meanwhile, Everton boss Roberto Martinez really needed the points after his squad has slumped dramatically in the league this season. The Spaniard made several changes following his team's UEFA Europa League exertions.
But even with a refreshed starting 11, Everton played with the pace and intensity that's been missing too often this season. Liverpool Echo reporter Phil Kirkbride highlighted Aaron Lennon's commitment:
Everton are now six points clear of the drop zone, while United are five clear of fifth place.
Chelsea Held
Chelsea couldn't build on Diego Costa's early header at Stamford Bridge; more accurately, Southampton didn't let the leaders build any momentum.
The Saints, owners of the stingiest defensive record in the league, were typically well-organised and miserly. As he often is, rock-steady holding player Morgan Schneiderlin was a key figure, per Squawka:
The Frenchman's efforts were aided by some standout form from goalkeeper Fraser Forster. The ex-Celtic stopper was particularly solid during the second half:
But don't let Forster's numbers fool you into thinking it was all one-way traffic in west London. The Saints created more than enough chances to win the win the game and should have found more goals than Dusan Tadic's first-half penalty.
The often inconsistent Sadio Mane was outstanding up front. He also received willing support from quick workhorse Shane Long.
The pacy pair tied Chelsea centre-backs John Terry and Gary Cahill in knots. Meanwhile, underrated powerhouse Victor Wanyama bossed the midfield.
Ultimately though, the point has done little for either side. The Saints needed more to recover their footing in the top-four race.
As for Chelsea, the Blues are still well-placed to win the title. But they do appear like they'll make hard work of the crunch period of their season.
City Title Bid in Tatters
The title seems out of City's reach after they failed to shine at Turf Moor. George Boyd smashed in an impressive shot to give Burnley an invaluable three points and effectively hand the silverware to leaders Chelsea.
City lacked a spark from the off, with strikers Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero particularly static and tame. Squawka detailed how the usually dangerous Aguero offered little:
It's been a common theme for City this season. Their big players have simply failed to deliver when it counts.
But even a tepid performance from Aguero and Co. might've gained a small reward had referee Andre Marriner correctly awarded a late spot-kick. Ben Mee came across Zabaleta and didn't reach the ball. But Marriner was unmoved by City's player-heavy appeal.
It proved to be the signature moment in what could be the decisive result of this season's title race.
Crystal Palace 11 Points Clear of the Drop
Once more than just fluttering their eyelids at relegation, Crystal Palace are now 11 points clear of the bottom three. It's a reflection of the sterling work Alan Pardew has done since taking over.
Dynamic winger Yannick Bolasie was in particularly fine form as Pardew's team thrashed QPR at Selhurst Park. He supplied goals for fellow wide man Wilfried Zaha and central midfielder James McArthur, per Sky Sports reporter Pete Hall.

A Joel Ward goal followed, as Rangers look like they won't even go down with much of a fight. Thanks to Pardew, though, fellow London club Palace are headed in the opposite direction.
Villa Finally Find Scoring Touch
The most goal-shy team in England's top flight finally found its touch in front of goal. Villa helped themselves to a quartet of first-half strikes against lowly Sunderland.
Gabriel Agbonlahor and Christian Benteke both found the net twice. Their exploits are long overdue considering both possess the pace and power to trouble any defence.

The shock result has moved Villa four points clear of the drop. With Benteke and Agbonlahor finding some form, manager Tim Sherwood's squad is a good bet to avoid the Premier League's trap door.
But City now look a better bet to finish the season empty-handed just one year after lifting the title.
