Daily Fantasy Basketball 2015: DraftKings Rankings, Picks for Monday, March 2

Eric MackMar 2, 2015

You have a case of the Mondays? Just think what the grinding NBA players are going through in the heaviest part of the season. The minutes—and ailments—are piling up, making Bleacher Report's daily fantasy basketball rankings and picks as important of a read as ever for Monday night's action.

PG Deron Williams, Brooklyn Nets ($6,600)

We have started to see the Williams of old in the second half of the season, just in time to pick up some buyers with his reduced price. His cost is going up, but it is not yet where it should be for a player who has the potential to average 20 points and eight assists.

DENVER NUGGETS VS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS, NBA

We really like him against the Golden State Warriors, who are playing on a back-to-back. Stephen Curry ($9,800) played 38 minutes Sunday, the most he has played in a single game in a month. Expect Williams to have a step on him.

  1. Williams, Nets
  2. Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers ($9,900)
  3. Ricky Rubio, Minnesota Timberwolves ($7,600)
  4. Greivis Vasquez, Toronto Raptors ($4,200)
  5. Mario Chalmers, Miami Heat ($4,500)
  6. Tyreke Evans, New Orleans Pelicans ($7,700)
  7. Ish Smith, Philadelphia 76ers ($3,000)

SG Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat ($6,900)

We don't tend to trust the older vets to perform up to value on a consistent basis, but this stands to be a solid night for Wade at home against the Phoenix Suns, who are thin at the guard spots with Brandon Knight (hip) banged up.

Wade has looked healthier of late and is coming off his first 20-plus-point performance in more than a month. He is an $8,000-plus player when healthy, so consider this a decent time to slot him in daily fantasy lineups.

  1. Wade, Heat
  2. Gerald Green, Phoenix Suns ($3,400) ... he might start for Knight
  3. Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors ($7,700)
  4. Joe Johnson, Brooklyn Nets ($6,100)
  5. Lou Williams, Toronto Raptors ($4,300)

SF Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota Timberwolves ($6,400)

He has a lot of work to do to get where he should be in the league, but the arrow is pointing in the right direction of late. Wiggins is coming off a 25-point effort, his fourth 19-plus-point game since the All-Star break.

Wiggins is headed for a strong finish to his rookie year and is in a position of value right now with his price, especially at Monday night's thin small forward position. The Clippers, without Blake Griffin (elbow) mind you, are 29th at DraftKings against small forwards, too.

  1. Wiggins, Timberwolves
  2. James Johnson, Toronto Raptors ($4,700)
  3. Matt Barnes, Los Angeles Clippers ($4,300)
  4. Jeremi Grant, Philadelphia 76ers ($3,000)
  5. Michael Beasley, Miami Heat ($3,200)

PF Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors ($6,800)

He is one of the more underrated players in the NBA right now, and he plays up to his mascot's name. He is going to need his engine here because he and his Warriors are playing their fourth game in five days on a grueling East Coast trip. Green has had 40-plus-fantasy point efforts in each of the three previous games, by the way.

The one thing we don't love about Green as the top power forward play is he is coming off a 44-minute effort Sunday. The Warriors cannot afford to rest him, though, especially against a suspect Nets team that is 28th at DraftKings against his position.

  1. Green, Warriors
  2. Marcus Morris, Phoenix Suns ($4,000)
  3. Nerlens Noel, Philadelphia 76ers ($3,200)
  4. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks ($6,200)
  5. Thaddeus Young, Brooklyn Nets ($5,200)
  6. Thomas Robinson, Philadelphia 76ers ($3,000)

C DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers ($8,900)

There hasn't been a more obvious play in daily fantasy than Jordan since Griffin (elbow) went down for the Clippers—especially since Russell Westbrook (face) is banged up now with Kevin Durant (foot) still out. Jordan has been a beast inside for Paul and the Clippers, registering 15 rebounds or more in each of his past eight games. In four of those games, he had 20-plus rebounds.

Rebounds are 1.25 points per at DraftKings, by the way. You have to start all of your lineups with Jordan, even coming off the back-to-back.

  1. Jordan, Clippers
  2. Hassan Whiteside, Miami Heat ($8,200)
  3. Spencer Hawes, Los Angeles Clippers ($3,600)
  4. Omer Asik, New Orleans Pelicans ($4,900)
  5. Jonas Valanciunas, Toronto Raptors ($5,200)
