Daily Fantasy Premier League 2015: Best EPL Lineup Picks Week 27

Steven CookFeb 26, 2015

Week 27 of the Premier League is a watered-down matchday in terms of overall matches due to the upcoming Capital One Cup final, leaving mostly middle-tier clubs in the Saturday time slot. But the right digging can produce great outcomes in Daily Fantasy.

Chelsea and Leicester City as well as Tottenham and QPR are postponed due to the Blues and Spurs' cup title meeting Sunday. West Ham and Crystal Palace—Saturday's early match—also doesn't grace DraftKings this weekend, leaving only five matches to choose from for Saturday. But here's a look at who to target in those five matches.

GKBen Foster (West Brom)Southampton6.2$4,000

Forwards: Bafetimbi Gomis ($7,400), Radamel Falcao ($8,700) and Dame N'Doye ($6,000)

Fantasy matches are won and lost in front of goal. As such, it's wise to set apart a chunk of your salary to lock down three forces atop their club's attack going up against susceptible back lines.

After ending a 14-game goal drought in league play, Bafetimbi Gomis of Swansea promises to continue his recent spurt stemming from his confidence-boosting score (along with three shots on goal) against Manchester United. With six SOG in his last three outings, Gomis should carve up a Burnley defense conceding 1.69 goals per game.

The Telegraph's Mark Ogden reports Radamel Falcao is set for a return to the lineup following Robin van Persie's injury, and he should continue his recent success against 19th-rated Sunderland. Falcao has double-digit fantasy totals in five of his last eight appearances.

Dame N'Doye has a much smaller sample size to pull from, but it's nonetheless jarring. He has a goal in two of his three appearances for Hull, who enter a game at Stoke City on a two-match win streak. In his last two outings, he's averaging a preposterous 23 FPPG.

Midfielders: Angel Di Maria ($9,200) and Moussa Sissoko ($5,400)

Dominant attacking players are tough to find with only five matches on tap Saturday, which makes Angel Di Maria well worth the sizable $9,200 price tag. He's been good for an assist in each of his last two league games, and has 19 crosses in those two performances to further pad his gaudy fantasy totals. Sunderland will have their hands full keeping him at bay.

Moussa Sissoko is a more affordable pick in a somewhat more favorable matchup, as his Newcastle squad face slumping Aston Villa, who rank 19th in tackles and 17th in interceptions per contest. He only has a goal and assist in his last 10, but will be on the ball plenty Saturday.

Defenders: Kieran Trippier ($5,300) and Joleon Lescott ($3,500)

The highest-priced defender for Saturday's slate, Kieran Trippier of Burnley looks set to continue his incredible recent streak against Swansea. He's netted an assist in two matches running and is averaging 15 FPPG in his last five outings, and Swansea's 3.7 shots per game don't figure to be much of a threat.

A low-salary defender like Joleon Lescott is ideal to make picks like Di Maria and Falcao possible, but his heavy usage rate suggests his output could trump a $3,500 salary. He only has one goal on the season, but has been dependable for a handful of drawn fouls and the occasional shot in recent fixtures.

Goalie: Ben Foster ($4,000)

When it comes to clean sheets this season, only Fraser Forster has been more of a presence atop England's top-flight league than Ben Foster of West Brom with 10 clean sheets on the season.

Southampton proved such a threat earlier in the season, but have since hit a wall with three defeats and a draw in their last five in all competitions. Scoreless in their last two in EPL play, the Saints should struggle again with Foster on the heels of two consecutive clean-sheet performances.
