United reportedly swatted away the interest of teams including Manchester City, Arsenal, Feyenoord and Wolfsburg for the left-sided attacking midfielder's signature, reported by ESPN FC.
Boonen is now expected to represent the side's reserves after previously working through training sessions at the club "for a few weeks," per ESPN FC. Terreur reported comments from the ecstatic youngster:
The former Genk player's story also made it into the Het Laatste Nieuws newspaper, per Terreur:
ESPN FC's report suggests United are monitoring Seppe Boonen, Indy's brother, who plays in goal. The Red Devils wouldn't be able to offer him a professional contract until he turns 16, however.
Indy now has the opportunity to work with one of England's most revered academies, which has produced the likes of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes over the years.
Fellow Belgian Adnan Januzaj currently represents the side's first team at the age of 20, undoubtedly a goal Boonen should look to replicate at Old Trafford.
