Wednesday Recap

Sergio Aguero scored his first goals since returning from injury as Manchester City beat Stoke City 4-1 at the Britannia Stadium. The Argentina hitman bagged a wonderful opener and slotted home from the penalty spot in the second half to end City’s run of poor results on the road against the Potters.
As noted by OptaJoe, the goals had been a long time coming for the striker, who now has 16 for the season:
In the grander scheme of things, the result was vital for City, as Chelsea toiled without their own top scorer, Diego Costa, for long spells against Everton. It was left to Willian to eventually notch the crucial goal for the Blues this time, breaking Toffees hearts with a deflected 89th-minute winner.

Former England international striker Gary Lineker paid tribute to the Brazilian, who was excellent throughout the 90 minutes:
Robin van Persie bagged his 10th Premier League goal of the season as Manchester United moved back into third place with a 3-1 win over Burnley. The Red Devils were unconvincing throughout the match but went in ahead at half-time thanks to two Chris Smalling goals either side of a Danny Ings header.

Mark Ogden of The Telegraph thinks that the Burnley forward will represent massive value for a team in the summer transfer window:
"Falcao is available for £43m this summer, Ings a free transfer. Value in the market....

Van Persie secured the win with a penalty for United in the second period, and they continue to showcase the desirable penchant for picking up big results when they aren’t playing too well.
The Red Devils' faithful will have been further buoyed by the result from Southampton, where the hosts could only draw 0-0 with West Ham United. The Hammers were reduced to 10 men in the second period too, as Adrian handled the ball outside of the area.

Elsewhere, West Bromwich Albion picked up an important 2-0 win at home to Swansea City thanks to goals from Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino; the win pushes the Baggies four points clear of the relegation zone and into 14th spot.
Alan Pardew had to make do with a point against former club Newcastle United, as his Crystal Palace side drew 1-1 with the Toon Army. It was looking bleak for the Eagles in the first period after Papiss Cisse put the visitors a goal up, but Fraizer Campbell was on to equalise for Pardew's men in the second period.
Tuesday Recap

Every now and then, a classic match pops up out of nowhere, but the form of Liverpool and Spurs suggested we were in for something special. The Anfield crowd were not left disappointed as Liverpool reigned supreme, winning 3-2 on the night.
Raiding from his midfield role, Lazar Markovic scored the Reds' opening goal, shooting wide of Hugo Lloris to grab the lead. However, Harry Kane was up to his mischievous tricks again, equalising for the north Londoners, scoring his 13th EPL goal of the year.

Liverpool's lead was restored in the second half after the returning Daniel Sturridge was adjudged to have been fouled by Danny Rose, leaving Steven Gerrard to score from the resulting penalty.
Spurs wasted no time in levelling matters once more, though, as Kane's cross was deflected in by Mousa Dembele.
Yet it was left to one of the most maligned players in today's game to save the day for the home side, as Mario Balotelli came off the bench to nick the winner. He converted a smart Adam Lallana cross-shot past Lloris to send the Anfield crown into euphoria.
Oliver Kay of The Times praised the undoubted quality of the match and highlighted Balotelli's achievement:

In other matches, Arsenal beat lowly Leicester City by 2-1 at the Emirates. Goals from Laurent Koscielny and Theo Walcott secured the win for the Gunners, with a second-half Andrej Kramaric strike keeping the scoreline respectable.
QPR grabbed a very rare away win as they defeated Sunderland 2-0. Leroy Fer gave the Hoops the lead early in the first half, only for Bobby Zamora to double the Londoners lead before half-time.
It was enough to see QPR pick up the points and climb out of the relegation places.
Joining them out of the bottom three is Hull City, who earned a comfortable 2-0 win at home to a vacant Aston Villa.
Goals from Nikica Jelavic and Dame N’Doye gave Steve Bruce the victory, which sees the Tigers leapfrog the Villains in the EPL standings.
