Brazil's Sport Club do Recife Use Mothers to Dissuade Fan Violence
Sport Club do Recife banked on the fact that misbehaving supporters wouldn't dare disgrace themselves in front of their mums.
The Brazilian side brought on 30 mothers, trained them up and used them for their derby against Nautico on Sunday.
They patrolled the park with "Seguranca Mae" on their vests (Security Mum), and fans saw video before the game warning supporters of the motherly presence in the stadium.

Public relations company Ogilvy hatched the brilliant idea.
"The idea was to make the most fanatical supporters aware and help in some way to bring peace to stadiums," Ogilvy vice president Aricio Fortes said, per Sport's website (via The Guardian). "At the end of the day, no one wants to fight in front of a mother, especially his own."
Sport wound up winning the match 1-0 without any incident of violence in Recife, an area that has had issues with it in the past.
Long live the Seguranca Maes!
