Tottenham don't have time to rest on their assault of the Premier League's top four. Mauricio Pochettino's men travel to Liverpool on Tuesday, fresh on the back of beating neighbours Arsenal 2-1 in a Harry Kane-inspired win on Saturday.
The Anfield contest headlines the 25th round of fixtures, a midweek special ahead of the return of the FA Cup. Everton travel to Chelsea, Manchester City face a thorough examination at Stoke after drawing with Hull, while Steve Bruce's Tigers endure a so-called "six-pointer" against fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa.

Season-Defining Battle Awaits at Anfield
Tottenham head to Liverpool just one point outside the Champions League places, while Brendan Rodgers' hosts are five shy of Manchester United's fourth-place haul of 44 points. With United, Southampton and Arsenal expected to pick up wins, both Spurs and Liverpool know Tuesday's game has the potential to define their season.
It's exciting for viewers, then, that both sides have put together an excellent run of form. Liverpool have lost just one of their last 20 matches in 90 minutes (December's 3-0 defeat to United) and are once again looking like a top-four team. Spurs have been beaten only twice in their last 15 matches across all competitions and have revenge on their minds after losing 3-0 to Liverpool earlier in the campaign.
This will be a battle of key players. Liverpool are armed with Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho, two individuals who failed to inspire during Saturday's 0-0 with Everton. Daniel Sturridge continues to gain crucial minutes on his way back into the team and could be given his first start since the last time these two played in August.

Although Christian Eriksen endured an off day against the Gunners, his distribution and set-piece quality could make all the difference in what should be a fast-paced game at Anfield. Liverpool typically dominate possession and create plenty of chances in front of their own fans, leaving space for Eriksen to slip into.
Three points either way would be huge. Both managers will know a draw does very little to aid their quest for European football, so this isn't the time for a cagey affair. We can expect plenty of numbers bombing forward and opportunities to snatch the win for both teams.
Liverpool haven't conceded in their last four Premier League matches, and with home advantage considered, should be considered slight favourites.
No Further Room to Slip for City
Manuel Pellegrini had this to stay after City's 1-1 draw with Hull, reported by BBC Sport:
"I think we tried always to find the space but we couldn't. We have a lack of ideas. If you see the team you don't see that we are tired or that we are not fighting; we run a lot and have a lot of possession.
We really played and I think the team has order and spirit but we don't have the creative players in this moment to create the space and it is very difficult against a team like Hull, who defend very well.
"
A team who doesn't have "creative players," yet fielded Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic, David Silva, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas against Bruce's battle-ready visitors, City are undoubtedly missing Yaya Toure's influence—despite a topsy-turvy season by his standards—noted by Sky Sports:
The truth is, one more slip-up and it's game over for the champions. A difficult trip to Stoke isn't what any side wants after a disappointing home result, particularly as defeat on Wednesday means Chelsea are likely to go 10 points clear at the top. City are currently as close to sixth as they are first, so they must exit the Brittania Stadium with a win.
Stoke have already beaten Arsenal and drawn with Manchester United at home this season. Mark Hughes' men are playing confident football and will be buoyed by salvaging a late draw against Newcastle on Sunday. The Potters have quietly racked up only one defeat in their last nine, per WhoScored.com, so City will be more than wary of the threat posed.
The effectiveness of Aguero and Silva will be key here. Both struggled to find space against a well-drilled Hull defence last time out. Once their link is broken, City quickly run out of options to create chances. Silva's ability to flit between Stoke's defence and midfield—where he can make pockets of space seem like chasms—will play a significant role in whether or not Aguero notches his first strike since returning from injury.
Stoke's wily centre-back combination of Philipp Wollscheid and Marc Muniesa have the capacity to frustrate Aguero out of possession. Both are willing to step out of defence to retrieve possession and will leave gaps to exploit, however. This risk-taking has aided Stoke in recent weeks, but a creative City side usually has the power to punish moments of indecision.
Whether or not that is this City side remains to be seen, particularly with Pellegrini's comments in mind.
The midweek action is sure to be stacked with drama and further memorable moments as the Premier League season builds toward a dramatic conclusion. Chelsea are sitting pretty at the top, but the hubbub below them is turning out to be this year's most engrossing storyline. With plenty of points up for stake, Week 25 has the potential to develop the plot in a major way.
