Wednesday Recap

Liverpool overcame a tough challenge from Bolton Wanderers to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup, taking advantage of a red card for Neill Danns to come from behind and win 2-1.
The hosts played a strong defensive match and took a shocking lead early in the second half, after Zach Clough went down inside the box under minimal contact.
The Reds were furious with the dubious decision, but Eidur Gudjohnsen couldn't care less, slotting home the penalty. Squawka Football couldn't help but feel as if we were living in a different era:
The hosts started playing even more defensively but did a fantastic job shutting down passing lanes, and an upset win seemed to be in the making.
Danns was given his arching orders for a second bookable offence, however, and the man-advantage restored life to the Reds. Raheem Sterling then took advantage of a horrible defensive miscue, tying things up with under 10 minutes to go. Squawka Football noted the goal was made by a fantastic pass from Emre Can:
The home crowd were furious when the sign went up, indicating a total of five minutes of added time. Liverpool didn't need that much, as Philippe Coutinho decided the match with a fantastic solo effort, cutting inside before blasting home via the cross-bar.
Bleacher Report's Ryan Bailey felt bad for Wanderers:
While some fans may say the Reds stole the win in the final minutes, Liverpool dominated the second half and were deserving of both goals. The penalty decision in favour of the hosts was questionable, to say the least, and while Bolton's resilience was admirable, the better team certainly won in the end.
Tuesday Recap
The kick-off at Old Trafford was delayed due to traffic, per The Sun, but when proceedings did get underway, it was the visitors who had the first opening:
Inside a minute, Daley Blind's mistake saw Tom Elliott through on goal, but while his curling shot beat David de Gea, it failed to find the back of the net, instead ricocheting back off the post.
A better chance was unlikely to come Cambridge's way, and so it proved, United dominating proceedings and taking the lead in the 25th minute.
Paddy McNair put in a fine cross from the left which was knocked down in the box by Marouane Fellaini before Juan Mata poked it home off the crossbar.
Seven minutes later, Louis van Gaal's men doubled their lead as Robin van Persie's clever cross was headed home by Marcos Rojo, a first for the Argentine, per football writer Daniella Matar:
There were no signs that United would repeat the struggles they encountered at the Abbey Stadium, and substitute James Wilson made it a procession in the 73rd minute as he fired home a left-footed strike from the edge of the area.
The Red Devils will face Preston North End in the next round after the League One club came through their own fourth-round replay, beating Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane.

Jamie Murphy gave the hosts the lead after 38 minutes, but a second-half double from Paul Gallagher and Paul Huntington's headed goal secured a terrific victory for Preston.
All three of North End's goals came in a 10-minute spell from the 63rd minute to completely turn the tie on its head and saw the Blades knocked out of the FA Cup.
Sunderland made a similar turnaround against Fulham at Craven Cottage, the Premier League club finishing 3-1 winners after Hugo Rodallega's strike put Fulham ahead in the first half against the run of play, per football writer Archie Rhind-Tutt:
A stroke of fortune gave the Black Cats their equaliser when Marcus Bettinelli dropped Patrick van Aanholt's cross into the goal.
Sunderland then went ahead through Ricardo Alvarez's tremendous 75th-minute strike, Jordi Gomez converting a late penalty to seal the win.
After all the shocks of the fourth round proper then, both Premier League sides made it through on Tuesday, but Liverpool still have work to do at Bolton on Wednesday.
